Anyway, I started out as an Au Ra, but switched to Highlander last September / October. Was thinking about going back, but then I remembered that Au Ra can't be Warriors of Light because of story reasons.
It felt really awkward when the Scions and everyone else were surprised to see Yugiri's face (or rather horns) when I had been with them for one or 2 months now.
I know it's a minor thing, but it still bugs me.

I feel like that just needs to be retconned. It's assumed that that all adventurers came from outside of Eorzea. The city states treat you like foreigners, so there's no reason the Au Ra can't be warriors of light.

As far as I know, the first Au Ra came to Eorzea roughly the same time Yugiri and the Doman refugees arrived. The Scions (and the rest of Ul'dah) had never seen them before.
Also, I have worded it poorly. I am not saying that Au Ra can't be Warriors of Light. I meant that the Warrior of Light in the Main Story technically can't be an Au Ra since they weren't really a thing in Eorzea until the arrival of the Domans.

I've never switched my race. Elezen for life. I use my fangtasia recently to change my skin color, to make him paler, and to change the nose. My Elezen is 6 feet 6 inches, right in the middle. To me Au Ra are nothing but Elezen with horns, and when you already play Elezen the excitement is pretty low.

Not true. If you do the Alexander storyline, you'll see that Au Ra have been a part of Eorzea for a very long time. Mide and Dayan got their hands on the Enigma Codex and were in Hinterlands years ago.
