Why do you even play this game then you clearly like nothing about it. And MMO don't change radically unless they fail and have the small chance of being revamped why stick around at all. Stormblood will not shake this game at its core its only just now trying to hit a stride.

as for excitement or disappointment sure im excited for samurai gonna play it along with my dragoon been waiting for a sword using dps and im getting one. This is a final fantasy game so the story being good is a given for the most part. as for gameplay changes nothing has been shown and there's no point of hyping myself up for stuff when i don't have the slightest idea of how they are gonna change things so i'll just wait till around May to get my answers to those questions. I'm not one for hype trains they've kinda ruined gaming a bit in my opinion

Because ARR was good? You know? The game that actually made FFXIV famous for what it is? The game that I actually started from and played until now? The game that was apparently remodeled, reworked and remade JUST so it would actually work without crashing? The game that actually didn't suck so hard to shut down because of being a massive failure? Yeah I think you heard about it.

ARR was flawed but incredibly good for a relaunch: I didn't like the story (oh what a shame!) but I liked the gameplay and that's what made me keep playing (Which is what a VIDEOGAME is about) and I liked the overall technical design and, most importantly, I liked the game enough to sub until the expansion came: as long as I paid for it, it mattered little to nothing whether I liked certain features and disliked others. But case in point, ARR was miles and miles superior to HW, mostly because it was all new and fresh and it RADICALLY changed everything from 1.0 just to make it work and considering we had around 1m subs at the end of ARR (presumably so), I believe I wasn't the only one to agree.

Did I expect HW to change? The answer is No, but I expected it at least to improve on the base game or, pardon this unknown word, to "expand" on the previous formula just like every expansion would do, but what we got was basically the same exact game with a new coat of paint: same patches with same content (literally so: 2.1 and 3.1 had 24 raid, 2.2. and 3.2 had new raid with new loot, etc), same weekly lock that nobody likes but will remains because gating is fun (no it's not), same literally everything (mounts from primals, few dailies just to pad for the sake of padding, little to no actual long lasting content like Diadem, POTD and Gold Saucer), with only their names being different.

So yes I'm so so sorry if I'm not exactly excited and I "don't enjoy the game" right now but considering that I came from 2.0, I loved 2.0 despite its limitations (it was a RELAUNCH, I can forgive them for that, but I can't do the same for an EXPANSION)), I expected way more from HW or at least improvements from the previous mistakes. And it did not deliver...or else we wouldn't see so many people leaving and resulting in having Cross-World party finder because of several servers being empty (which wasn't as big of an issue during ARR)

So with that said, I'm skipping SB. Why? Because it won't "expand" on the previous formula and instead being yet another ARR with nothing to differentiate it from the previous expansion and I can only HOPE that I'm wrong - and believe me, I want to be wrong on this, but considering the situation and how little they are showing for this expansion (seriously, why not highlight the revamp?!), I doubt this will happen.

Afterall, they won't change the formula unless it's failing right?
