I guess 1 is high and 10 is low (Isn't it the opposite?), I suppose 10.
I don't care, call me a hater or whatever, but honestly the only thing that could've lead me to at least "think" on buying the expansion was ANY info about the combat revamp and possible improvements over current classes...and they did not deliver.
I don't like playing dps so samurai and red mage just don't appeal to me. Not entitled or whatever: I like the benefits of being a tank and the fact that my queues are fast so I would have liked to see what they had to give to the other classes. They did not deliver.
I'm not a fan of japanese settings as I prefer Chinese. Personal preference but still a thing.
I don't like the story and most likely skip as usual. Personal preference once again.
So what's left then? Probably the same old same old: 2 dungeons (if not 1), 1 raid, 1 primal, same weekly lock, same everything. Heck I already see myself barely playing due to the fact that the weekly lock constantly gets in the way for gearing up, forcing me to wait a week just to get a new piece of gear....such fun.
Yeah...no, have fun I guess: I'll be waiting for 1 or 2 patches in the meanwhile. Didn't the guy say that it's okay to play other games anyway? Yeah, I'll take that offer!

I'm super pumped for the expansion! Enough to get me back into the game after a lengthy hiatus (prior to HW dropping).![]()

I'll put it at a 6. I'm more disappointed by the lack of information on key aspects of the expansion then the actual announcements, although the lack of new Tank/Healer does sting a bit.
We still know little to nothing about the big features such as Eureka, the Battle System Revamp, the Inventory Increases, Return to Ivalice, Omega, and more. If the class changes are phenomenal, my opinion on the expansion will improve drastically, but right now (on the surface) it seems like Heavensward with less content. I might be utterly wrong about that, but without more information I can't see how it will end up larger or better than Heavensward was.
I hope we can get a better look at the big-name features soon.
While I know what that person said is ridiculous, it literally was just adding a cast bar. The only clunky abilities are Repelling Shot and following up with a GCD skill, and the fact that you cannot save RoB recast triggers. New 3.0 skillls conflict with older skills a BRD has? That's an overstatement. Really not seeing how it conflicts... are you saying that literally just the cast bar has screwed up the playstyle of BRD? That's not right. Literally the only two issues are RoB recast triggers and using a GCD skill after Repelling Shot.
It's just not RoB, again Wide Volley is nearly useless extremely high tp 160 for 110 pot, verse Quick Nock 140 tp for the same pot. While RoD now shares a recast with Bloodletter, because of the change to RoB this didn't happen until 3.0. So right off the bat one skill was made pointless, and two skills were made more clunky than previously. Not to mention barrage was reworked to be built around Empyreal Arrow, and again restructured by WM due to not allowing auto attacks. While Sidewinder the most potent damage skill we have, can be used outside of WM.
So no it wasn't they just added a cast bar, they removed auto attacks, reworked skills to work similar to MCH in hopes of making the classes play parallel, there is a reason why many BRDS in raids stance dance, you literally gain more dps by having WM on and off throughout the whole fight.
Again imagine having all weaponskills replaced by cast bars and all auto attacks removed, imagine PLDS having to cast flash, or WAR having to cast Overpower, or a DRG having to cast jump. Having a cast bar on your class does a lot more then you actually think.

That may be fact a difference, yet the Machinist has the same type of AoE's while the Machinist has Grenado Shot with 120 potency and 100 for Spreadshot. And not to forget, every ammo is increasing its potency by 20. But its not the only changes the bard went through, Jetstream_Fox did mentioned some already.
The bards movement is based on either going out of WM or using Feint. Using 2. method is purely TP consuming and will result in heavy problems in longer fights. Barrage went from buffing auto attacks to 3 consecutive attacks for a weapon skill, which will never crit. By using Feint you can make sure to cast 2 oGCD even, yet results in bigger TP consume (while MCH can use his procs to use 2 oGCD). And then there is Bloodletter which is always reseting twice in a row, while you cast actually a GCD.

Why do you even play this game then you clearly like nothing about it. And MMO don't change radically unless they fail and have the small chance of being revamped why stick around at all. Stormblood will not shake this game at its core its only just now trying to hit a stride.
as for excitement or disappointment sure im excited for samurai gonna play it along with my dragoon been waiting for a sword using dps and im getting one. This is a final fantasy game so the story being good is a given for the most part. as for gameplay changes nothing has been shown and there's no point of hyping myself up for stuff when i don't have the slightest idea of how they are gonna change things so i'll just wait till around May to get my answers to those questions. I'm not one for hype trains they've kinda ruined gaming a bit in my opinion

Idk. I'm excited about samurai, but i'm less excited that the 12th legion is doing eastern stuff instead of stuff related to final fantasy 12.
I was so sure this would be my Judge Magister expansion.
I am the Fist of Retribution
Wide Volley, Quick Nock and Rain of Death all used to be a very clustered AoE combo. IIRC it went WV -> QN -> RoD, volley made quick free and quick made Rain free. That's not anything better than we have now because it's a useless skill that could have been reworked rather left alone.
But my point remains from a few pages ago, you can't create anything new without looking at your old content, you can't throw a new graphic card into a machine with a outdated cpu and expect it to work right without updating your cpu. The issues with BRD are very evident by this, they took a new class and put it's skills into a old class that was clunky to start with. Now it's a mess that requires players to try and perform optimally between stance dancing IF they can get that down, regenerating party tp/mp, and being a on the fly defacto cleanser for the party.
Old systems can't work with new systems, without the older systems being rebuilt.
