I'd like PvP to be accesible through a request, like the same way you do party invites, and be able to pvp at anywhere anytime, also I like the idea someone said about having an arena, that seems pretty good, but with good rewards, like gear, weapons, and good stuff like that, also I was thinking on let the weaponskills that incapacitate to take out a part of the opponents gear, this last thing might only work well when doing some kind of pvs but in parties, since you need to attack from a specific location for some ws to work effectivley in what parts refer.
I would prefer no PvP as well, maybe some sort of sports game or fixed arena teams. It should never include any world PvP, this is Final Fantasy not WoW.
When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Open world PVP: This would have to be by request system only. Why? Same reason that SE patched BST being able to MPK in FFXI. People were taking advantage of it and using it as a grief tactic. Trolls and childish people ruin the f*game with their annoyances. I mean it would still be PVP with a request system. Why do you think most games w/o request/accept PVP setup separate their PVP servers and PVE servers mostly?
Jumping: FFX-2 anyone? A lot of FFXI players despise WoW. Thats the main reason for this one. FFXI players have a die-hard "by the seat of your pants" "struggle to overcome" type mentality. Which doesn't mean they don't like having fun and letting loose every now and thenEveryone I have spoke with in regards to jumping says they would like a limited function Jump in order to further add some action to FFXIV and the FF series without going overboard. Granted I can't speak for EVER person, but it really is a silly argument. In the end SE will do a player poll anyway and we will all *facepalm* at the results. So everyone make love and not war, every lil' thing gonna be alright
Original intent of OP: I agree I hope SE doesn't listen to some of the ridiculous requests flooding these forums. However, keep this in mind: The two topics above these prove one thing. Freedom is always an illusion. There has to be checks and balances in life (law) in order to keep humans from reverting to their base instincts and ruining the equality of life for everyone. Thats the way humanity keeps itself from extinction. Let's keep FFXIV from extinction too please![]()

I'm against pvp in its entirety. Why? Because it ALWAYS leads to this constant cycle of trying to 'balance' the classes against one another. If it were handled separately that would be fine, but that never happens and always ends up modifying how my class functions in other parts of the game, which makes me put on my angryface.
Simply put, not every game needs pvp. I'd much rather see time and effort being put into cooperative gameplay styles.

I Hope Yoshi-P will not listen to people trying to make Final Fantasy into a WoW clone. An open world PvP is never going to happen, esp in FF, according to the team, they are really against this - However, a Ballista styled controllled PvP is always welcome. Jump, if there is going to be one, plz be auto jump near cliffs etc.
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
I don't think there is ANYONE on these forums who want this game to turn into WoW. A single idea behind a mechanic does not make a game. The way the idea is utilized and presented is what makes a game. The ability to jump does not make WoW, WoW. Nor do many other features people have suggested. And to be honest, I don't think it is even possible for them make the game feel like WoW, nor do I think they want to.I Hope Yoshi-P will not listen to people trying to make Final Fantasy into a WoW clone. Yes I do have a My Little Pony sig because I'm not a complete loser who lives in his own little world, proclaiming something is stupid because I say so.
I don't think you know what you are talking about....
Your argument is that in other games X class has to be balanced around the other classes, in FFXIV there is no classes, therefore there is no need to balance Y class to Y class, since every player can be every job at willAlso since there is no need to balance the jobs vs each other, there is no need to buff/nerf for PVP/PVE
