Rather annoying that they keep moving threads with actual suggestions by members and fill them in the resolved section,
anyhow check out this thread, i also linked a thread that i had replied to with settings i changed and what not
    http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...into-it-better

or the thread itself were i added a screenshot

Hope it helps some, this really is an old issue that SE does not care to resolve

It took some time to sort research threads to find the actual working solution, but there is still hope! To jump to working solution, go here - http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest.../blog/3255421/ .

For those experiencing this issue, know that I have played the Heavensward expansion regularly on PlayStation 4. However, I recently hooked up our brand new PS4 Pro console and wanted to install the game. After setting up the new PS4 , I started the installation of A Realm Reborn (ARR) expansion. Early into the patch updates (after completion of install), I received the black screen and 'Unable to download patch files [20512], [25008], [20495].'

    - I tried deleting and reinstalling the game, but this did not fix the issue.
    - I tried shutting down PlayStation 4, rebooting the modem/router, powering on and setting the PlayStation 4 Network connection settings through LAN (Ethernet) cable with easy setup configurations, but this did not fix the issue.
    - I tried changing the DNS to Google's DNS (Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8. Secondary DNS: 8.8.4.4.), but this did not fix the issue.
    - I tried changing the DNS to Verizon's DNS (Primary DNS: 4.2.2.1. Secondary DNS: 4.2.2.2.). This allowed for a bit of progression, but did not fix the issue or allow for the complete patch update required.

Now you can try the solution that worked for me at http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest.../blog/3255421/ . ^.^

**Tip: To ensure my connection was the best possible, I also did not use any other devices that require internet or wifi during the installation. Please note we have the highest internet and data plan provided by AT&T.**

Following the above steps from Square Enix, I was able to use this method with success my first try! I sincerely hope this helps everyone out there! I was only out of commission for a couple of days from FFXIV and that was long enough.

    Best wishes!
