What? They've explicitly said that the housing area will be accessible on-launch, and that people won't even be able to buy plots immediately.

No one will be able to buy plots immediately, regardless of their progression in the MSQ.

This is being done so that people can focus on leveling classes or enjoying the new story, rather than worry over rushing to buy a new house.

Who didn't say this already Captain Obvious? Even still they said that he new housing zone will be locked behind the MSQ. You have to GET there first to be even able to buy the housing in the first place when it opens.

I'm sorry, but if you haven't completed the 3.56 story in the 3 months between it going live, and Stormblood launching, then that's on you.
And if you're complaining on behalf of those who aren't even going to start playing until this summer, then you've got even less sympathy from me.

You do realize that you are going to have to finish the Ala Mhigo part of the story first right? The only thing locking the housing zone behind the MSQ is going to do is make people rush through the content to be in Othard by the time the housing opens. As much as they think people are going to take their time and enjoy the content they aren't, *ESPECIALLY* if they don't add new zones to the older housing districts. All people are going to do is make a mad dash for the Othard content.
