I don't see the point of buying the expansion if the gameplay isn't improved compared to what we have now, especially considering how stale the PVE content begins to be in its design.

I was very excited. Not anymore.
The fan fests are over and all we've been shown - two DPS jobs, tanks/healers getting nothing, new maps, new housing, a new city, and some screenshots of the new cool areas that will be empty as soon as people have finished their story.
No information on the new raids, no information on this Eureka, no information on any of the existing jobs (since you know I am getting screwed out of a new healer job). They spoke in the past of these big battle system revamps, then I see the Q&A yesterday and the whole focus isn't a revamp, but helping make DPS rotations easier and skill bloat. Seriously? Then I read everyone posting "well, I'm fine with not getting a new tank and healer because we're going to see the current tanks and healers refined and rebalanced." Yeah right. I don't see any of those jobs getting a true revamp, just super quick nerfs/buffs to existing skills. Also, no new race, and not even the slightest notion that the existing races will get any additional customization options.
After people get through the initial story and leveling, the game is going to go right back to the same old treadmill of raid/tome farming for gear that is outdated in 3 months. Oh I can't forget the new relic which will, I'm sure, be a copy and paste of the HW relic and also the new primal seahorse (or whatever new mount they introduce) farming.

I assume there will be a long long and extensive live letter with live english translation outlining 4.0 content and changes in detail, as it happened pre-HW.
Including Battle content changes as well as Content updates.
Well this is all they care to do because non of the jobs are broken.they work the way they need to. Its not wgat the meta need sadly.if sam be like monk then it wont be wonted as well.then people will that wanted it dps start saying how it was need to be a tank.
I'm very satisfied with it all. I am happy with my race, look, and primary Jobs, so I didn't need more on those fronts. I love the idea of Ala Mhigo, and was pleasantly surprised by the surprise Edo-Land. The look is nice, and I see lots to do without it being too much.
I think the problem people are having is Heavensward was as much an expansion as it was a last minute catch-up to get the last of what they wanted changed from 1.0. So it was huge. I mean 4 jobs, and yes I know Ninja came in 2.x but you get my meaning. All the locations, the different feel and the variety of it all. It was a expansion, and in a lot of ways a massive patch. So it set the bar really high. Stormblood feels like a normal MMO expansion to me. I think people just expected more and are disappointed.

Personally i think people need to get over their obsession (it is at this point) with Viera and Dancer, if these two things are what decides if you are excited for it or not then unfortunately maybe you don't care about the game that much to begin with.
Lots and lots and lots of missing information. I havent preordered yet but most likely will soon. I feel like some will be cleared up in the live letters.
Very excited.
People need to realize that when we got thee jobs for Heavensward the devs said they will never do that again. It was too much work for a small team. Yes, the dev team is actually much smaller than you would imagine.
Anyways, they did say that they are ahead of schedule for stormblood which is good. I do expect them to give us alot of new features/conent within the patches if not during expansion release date.

"BAAAAAARD!" - 2018
I'm always skeptical when they show us just new zones. To new or casual players, eye candy is enough. But to veterans, we need more details. We know that the zones only hold Story Quests, FATEs, Leves, Gathering and Beast Tribe Quests. We need to be assured that the development team have realised that the zones they make just turn into dead zones after a short period of time.
And that really makes the game feel like its gone two steps back even though this is what a modern MMO seems to be. It really makes this game feel eerily similar to the now ancient PSO on the dreamcast/xbox with hub world and levels (or in FF14's term "Idllyshire and Roulettes/Trials/Raids")
I am hoping we at least get some kind of endgame activity which uses the open world (in addition to the raids and trials we get presently)
This part is what concerns me. Heavensward's endgame at 3.0 was not nothing short of one disappointment after another with scripts, the tome grind, gordias being what it was, and the relic suffering because of it. And the endgame at lvl 70 after the msq ends is what we are all going to be facing the majority of our time.I was very excited. Not anymore.

The fact that they are unable to add new faces now, after the ps3 support ends, after putting in an entirely new race with the ps3 support makes me think they are being dishonest.
And there is something about the story that doesn't seem right to me.
