SE, Fantastic Job with the Fan Fest Reveal

I had purchased the live stream since i wanted to wait till the last one since it was bound to have the most info and i wanted the Yuna minion. I went in just expecting them to announce a new class or two pretty much already knew SAM was a given as well as some new features but what i wasn't expecting was the inclusion of pretty much most of the continent of Orthard in the expansion. When they announced this i couldn't contain my excitement, This wasn't even hinted at for this expansion as far as i could tell so it was a complete surprise. I didn't even think we would be leaving Eorzea till 5.0. In today's age of internet leaking it has been a while since i got this excited over a reveal like this. I'm pretty sure know one saw this coming. Any way i just wanted to congratulate SE on this huge information drop

For me opening keynote was underwhelming. 15 minutes of recapping everything we knew already from previous fanfest. 15 minutes of hyping new song with only 20 seconds of it actually heard. Samurai introduction nowhere near as epic as RDM's. New areas footage was nice, but zero info about Omega, Eureka, Return to Ivalice, battle changes, new skills, you know all things people were actually interested to see.

It was as epic as red mage. You got the epic extended trailer showing off Samurai, and then we got to see it's beautiful animations. What more do you want?

RDM made me hyped, SAM did not. It doesn't help they showcased it on a hyur with default gilspammer face I see every day near Limsa marketboard.

I thought the hyur was adorable! I guess some people are just impossible to please.

I enjoyed the SAM details on how it plays, but I liked RDM a lot better. I thought the Samurai trailer was too generic. Slashes bullets and holds his katana for a swift anime slash like every stereotypical samurai already does. Wish the trailer showed FFXIV's samurai a bit more unique a not a cookie cutter anime samurai.

The Revolutions song sampler was my favorite part. I enjoyed how they said Dragonsong was more god-like while Stormblood's is more humanistic.

I thought it was great too. I was a little disappointed I admit, but I trust the dev team and their choices. I think that for ever disappointment, they balanced it well.

People got their own hopes up >>; I can't really blame the Devs for that.

I never imagined we'd see Doma so soon, and oh my gosh, that Samurai reveal was amazing.

I wanted a tank, but I mean, I am a loyal DRG, I will level the other jobs eventually but DRG always comes first so regardless I'm good.

They have to save SOMETHING to talk about during the Live Letter in a few hours, yeah? They can't just throw everything at us right out the door. Have to keep people coming back Sunday.

They literally unveiled that we are going to another continent for 50% of the expansion, and that the world map is getting expanded drastically. I think that is pretty big news.

The Othard announcement was pretty rad, and I liked the video for Samurai but...I didn't appreciate watching the Samurai video twice for no reason, or the entire swimming video (again), or a big recap without expanding on any of that information. While the Doma stuff was really sweet, I felt like there was a lot of content that we could use some more details on. Details on Omega, Eureka, and the Combat "Revamps" especially are very sparse, and I was really looking forward to learning more about those. I felt like getting a glimpse of the new UI elements or some new abilities would have been more valuable than showing off housing as much as they did.
