    ok, it seems some of you did miss three important point:
    -first, we gonna get new skill that will enhance the class, hw did bring a lot of possibility for the pld and the war. and we can expect more with stormblood
    -second, the skill revamp will take out the useless skill and change the cross skill system, what can offer more possibility.
    -finally, ff14 allows you to play more than one class.... only focus on one class is missing most of the appeal of the game!

    ps: i play main paladin...and monk! i alternate between both and it allow me to enjoy more the game... saying that the tank get nothing is a big lie... since nothing forbide you to play every class of the game... instead to be salty be happy of all the new possibility this two jobs can bring and wait to see them

    So for what kind of content you want balance that bad ? pvp i guess ? because i don't see any problematic with any job in PvE, never seen any monk/whm/pld taking a big nope in PF

    Then you probably don't do progression content in Savage Raiding, which is where most of the balancing team takes their data from. All three jobs you mentioned are extremely undesirable as they're selfish/offer no Raid Utility/Other jobs do it better. Don't act like you haven't seen the many threads for each one /pleading/ to be made viable for content. In fact, if it /wasn't/ for Savage Data, then AST would remain as bad as it was on 3.0, where you had to cross-class Cure because it had a higher potency than Benefic.

    Agreed.

    It also brings the total amount of classes to a nice even spread - 3 tanks, 3 healers, 3 strength dps, 3 dexterity dps, 3 int dps. Instead of giving tanks or healers a new shiny that they might drop in a couple months anyway for their original job, all of the focus on them for the expansion will be on refining them as much as possible.

    Honestly, I'm kind of jealous of that, being a dps main.

We saw a large gap form regarding DPS from skilled and technical players and more casual players and so we wanted to bring up the bottom. The second thing is that with FFXIV, lots of players use the controller, with the increase in actions, its hard for them to use all of the actions available. There aren’t enough ways to use these actions so we’re cutting the number of unused actions and combining similar actions to make the lvl 70 action number about the same as it is now
    So judging by this we can "assume" that while we will retain the same number of actions as in HW some skills are seriously gonna be reworked. My guess is Inner Beast/Fell Cleave and Steel Cyclone/Decimate will finally be combined into two buttons with skills being available while in said stances. I would love to see a skill that is an opposite to Unchained while in Deliverance. I'm still gonna main war for sure but the fact that we have the same amount of skills plus the reworking of CC skills and fine tuning while not having to change much of my cross bars has got me excited. Still going SAM dps off spec tho. I think Yoshi was right when he said that tanks and healers will always be their respective jobs but it's nice to see this "refresh" of skills and actions.

    But listening to some others, it sounds like their fav jobs get expulsed of any party as if they have disease...

    I have to laugh at all the tanks and healers got shafted with no new classes while dps got two statements. Caster dps got zilch in heavensward and so did melee. So now that they have given each type a new class. Seems.pretty fair to me. Tank,healer, and support dps in HW and melee and caster dps in stormblood. Players need to stop with the doom and gloom drama as well as the racist remarks because they didn't want the samurai. We do not even have all the info regarding the expansion an People are behaving this way over the land masses too. At least wait until the new battle system info is released and you have a more complete picture.

    Again, then you didn't do cutting edge progression, because that statement alone proves you don't. MNK/WHM/PLD bring /nothing/ to the table and hindered progression when we're lower ilvl, sure now at i260+ it's not an issue, but 3.0/3.2/3.4, it WAS an issue. It's not that they have a disease, it's just "Why bring X when Y does it better when paired with Z?"

    Why should they still get 2 new classes and tanks/healers none? We deserve new flavors of our favorite roles, too. If you want to dps, you have 7 (soon to be 9) different options to choose from. If you want to heal, you have 3 options, and one of those you can't even heal on until level 30, while another you have to wait until you grind through the nightmare of ARR MSQ to access (so basically only one role you can play as healer from the start). If you want to tank, you have 3 options, and one like the healers is locked behind ARR MSQ.
