You're right. But is this still the case now? Do we still have hundreds of ninja's clogging the queues? It eventually evened out, and this will be the same. It may take a little more time, but eventually a majority of the tanks will go back to being tanks, and the same for healers. Just like what happened when Ninja was released.

To make the assumption that everyone sticks to one role is incredibly incorrect. I don't know anyone who sticks to one job or one role for every single piece of content. Yes, they tend to do the harder stuff on the role/job that they main and/or have geared the most. But most people I know tend to try to do content on a variety of roles to keep things interesting. That's why in most MMOs other people have alts, XIV is different because you can just slap all the jobs on one character.

(edit) For those saying that ROG/NIN was different because it was mid expansion, fair enough. Everyone is going to be leveling in Stormblood, that is true too. But most people will be doing the MSQ, new dungeons, and new quests on their main job, while leaving their roulettes for the new jobs. Even in Heavensward there was a mild bloat with the release of the trinity. A lot of HW's hype was around DRK and AST, when HW came out we saw tank and healer queues increase while DPS queues got shorter. It wasn't anything too horrendous, but it existed. Of course they aren't going to stay bloated forever, maybe a month or two, but it's highly probable that there will be bloat with RDM and SAM and that it'll be noticeable.

Me and my friends will try level our classes together, so we can queue into stuff instantly, there is also PotD and the obvious fate farming, but yeah, adding DPS classes only will screw with queues, it won't be too bad at first I think, with everyone levelling their current mains for the Stormblood storyline, but it will be bound to get worse as time goes on (Ninja queues...ugh)

Samurai looks fun, it will be sharing gear with MNK, which is good, because as a MNK main I have all the gear I could possibly want for it, best grab some lvl 50 gear while I can of course.

I will level everything in due time, but I will go through SB as a Tank first, then the two new sword dps classes. Mostly because I want my character to be a blademaster of sorts.

Yes, that's why it's better for people to make groups for when early access launches, lost of people did it in HW.

The players have style options now with split parity across the board. This is a good thing. Honestly I was initially disappointed with no tank, but once I thought about it, I was glad that SE chose to try to clean up and bring identity to the Tanks and heals we have to try to make them more fun to play. PLD needs some attention, so I don't want SAM tank stealing that spotlight.

Not only that, I also recall being mentioned that tanks/healers can look forward to an overhaul of their jobs ... so that could be interesting.

I believe the question was asked what kind of armor a SAM would use and the response with "it will be light gear like a monk"

"Like a MNK" isn't the same as "it will share gear with MNK"
