Dear Square Enix, can you remove the race restrictions on hairstyles?

Nothing would stop a Machinist from wearing a Bard's feathered AF hat. I mean it's just a hat and you fight the same fights in the same places as either job. Yet that's not allowed. You have to take off the hat when you swap your bow to a gun.

Well at least with gear one could argue that it maybe gives people better stats if they wear it correctly. But in the end saying that its because of lore is not that good of an argument if you at the same time have scions like Yda that wears different styles or Papalymo that has gauntles that I am not sure that we would be able to wear. So saying that this is at least a little part of the lore is a bit difficult to believe. (Just for information I dont want the restrictions for gear lifted since there should be some ways to be different with each job)

In the end its only because the devs wanted it that way (with hair too) and imo there should be no real lore reasons to not have every option for hair available for everyone. I can understand that there should be some individual points for each race but normally horns, cat ears, tails and more should be way enough to show that they are different. (And if we want to nitpick, all people can get horns thanks to those ultima glamour items or wear cat ears thanks to caith sith item so shouldnt those be taken out of the game since this takes the individuality away from those races?)

In the end I dont really like much of the Au Ra hair styles. Most of the long hair clips horrible with gear and the rest are used by a lot of other Au Ra females too. Most of those hair styles that I use are without any restrictions and having more of those as a choice would be really nice.

A little off topic: It would be kinda interesting to know if all of those that are so much pro-restriction would be okay with jobs for males or females only? I mean if the lore/devs says that only females are dancers (as a example) would you be alright with it? (And samurai as male only)

a) 3 Hyur in Hyur starter gear with Hyur hairstyles.

b) An Au ra with a hyur hairstyle & a combination of Miqo & Hyur starting gear, A midlander with a Lalafell haircut & a mix of Elezan & Roe starter gear & a Highlander with Lalafell starter gear & a Miqo hairstyle.

I prefer having as much customization as possible since characters can already look exactly the same as it is.

I don't understand why some people wouldn't want the hairstyles to go across all races. It would be great if everyone got to share all the race-locked hairstyles. I don't think implementing something like this would take away any uniqueness from any races at all. It's just hair.

Yes we do, why not give them Legacy stuff as well...No we like to be unique.

And this here is exactly my point. Any argument for unlocking all hair styles can be used to argue for unlocking all job exclusive gear. I mean yeah we'd be able to make so many new individually unique combinations by mixing different job gears but at the cost of jobs losing a thing that makes them look different from one another. Similarly, I don't want to end up playing a game where the only thing separating races is height and a tacked on animal part. I saw how quickly the players jumped from requesting unlocking hempen gear to unlocking all racial gear. Give the devil your little finger...

Jobs are not cosmetic and that's all I'm going to say about that topic. If it's your genuine interest to know how the players feel about it, I'll happily discuss it in a new thread.
