Honestly even though I likely wouldn't play as one - I would rather they go for a more creative race that isn't just another human with animal ears/horns. (Says the generic miqo'te, I know...)

People need to accept the likelihood of that happening is more or less zero. When people say, "More unique," or, "More creative," in terms of a race, they're thinking of games like WoW or GW2 where you have races like Worgen, Tauren, Draenei, Charr, Sylvari, etc... races radically different in every regard from, 'Human.' What these players also forget, is that such races have a place in the setting of FFXIV. As Beast Tribes. Which are our enemies, not our allies. Ergo, they will be unplayable, at least until some future FF MMO that takes place a century or two from now (or even a calamity or two), in which everyone is friends cause of our efforts.

FFXIV is likely to keep getting, "Humans with <animal> ears and tails," for races. I don't think there is anything wrong with that either. Its the setting we have.

I'm not against Best Tribe glamours for those who want them though. I'd love to see a glamour system like that in general. Yoshi made mention of making Blue Mage into a Job/Class that isn't really for dungeons/groups. While I want Blue Mage to be an actual Job/Class like that, I'd be fine with an addition of Jobs/Classes which -can- be used for fun side content like gathering glamours from NPCs/Beast Tribes, or unlocking additional info about the setting.
