    PVP Only Materia

Are there any useful guides / links or information on PVP Materia? Not talking about Crit, or STR on PVP gear - talking about the sleep resistance, bind res, etc... materia bought at Wolves Den affixed to PVP gear used in PVP. Prior to this upgrade, I had a full set of 205 PVP gear with max meld (5 thingies) affixed to all left side stuff. Sleep Res, slow, bind, etc.... Probably overkill, but I enjoyed doing it, at the time I didn't have much else to spend the Wolves things on. But I never see anyone else with PVP materia, or if I do it's not very common, and never max meld. So, what is it they know that I don't? Is this stuff useless? I'm assuming it's fractions of a second reduction, but if I have 10 Sleep resist melds some place on my left side, I'd imagine that's better than having zero. Left side gets you 6 pieces of gear with 5 slots to meld or 30 pieces of materia to use. Appreciate any useful feedback. AG

Materia is disabled in PvP (tells u that at the start etc.) including every single materia (pvp materia too). So it makes no difference if u meld or not.

I don't think that's entirely correct. I recall seeing something about this before that PVP materia is the only materia usable in PVP. Other materia is disabled, not pvp stuff. Why would they sell it at the pvp place if it's not usable in the pvp arena?

PvP materia was originally usable in The Fold way back in 2.0. Sometime later, around when Frontlines was added, it was disabled in ALL PvP contents including The Fold, Frontlines, and all other PvP contents that came out later. I assume they originally planned to rework it and as such is the reason why they didn't remove it from the game, but as of now it is completely worthless.

Ok, well that just seems silly, why have the slots in PVP gear, or even sell the PVP materia? Appreciate the feedback, let's see if that's something they change in future patches. Thanks again.

Because SE does not know how to deal with PvP, Pvp gets adressed last and put weak effort into it.

All the information about it not working etc is correct, even pvp gear is worthless currently due to level sync.

The only plus side to PvP gear is that you can mix easier to get around useless accuracy sub stat gear.

And morale was an actual stat instead ilvl boost it is today, i think SE tought that PvP stat and materia was too "hardcore" for majority so they scrapped them. And imo its actually good that they did this as now everyone is on even playingfield, all you need to do now is get stuff that is ilvl150 higher.

You are, but it's easy to understand how someone could get confused based on contradicting statements made by the game

The one on the right is misleading, at best.

I think it was more that since the only way to get decent PVP gear was by doing pvp, and morale played a HUGE role in stats, it meant newer players and those who didn't jump in right at the start had no other option but to perpetually lose until they got enough wolf marks.

Though, these days with multiple PVP modes, we could certainly have a mode where morale and pvp materia work, while keeping other modes for people to get their marks in.
