Maybe there should be no penalty for leaving.
Maybe there should be no penalty for leaving.
If anything it's not as bad considering how much easier alex savage is. More people with progression = less people needing 24-man "catch-up" gear.
Oh you can't imagine how a part of this com will flame you if you leave something like dun scaith if you already have your loot. They threaten to kick you out of groups in the future and call you an anti team player, even if it doesn't matter if you end the dungeon with them or someone else who maybe needs something that drops on the later bosses. You are entitled to nothing. Seriously. How can you come to the forum to cry about something this insane.
1st. If they are leaving mid raid, there is a high likelihood they already cleared it at least once getting nothing, very likely rolling against people and losing too.
2nd. They are opening spots to be taken mid raid by people who may only need a chest from the last boss or may not need anything at all and just want to clear.
This is good for community as a whole. Don't be a selfish whiner because someone rolled higher than you then didn't feel obligated to hold a spot in a raid someone else could clearly use. Get over yourself. What is good for the community may not be the most ideal situation for you. In fact it usually isn't. Better suck it up buttercup, because this will not change. This is life.
For me it doesn't matter if someone leaves if he has his loot and they have their 30 minutes penalty anyway.
Cause it's a game and I don't let little things like this stress me out when there are tons of bigger issues in the world that I should be more concerned about than a piece of gear that is already on the brink of being outdated.
I personally only drop when the pt is bad, like really bad, like we have wiped on the same boss to the same mechanic 8 times bad and we will likely just time out anyway.
But hey if someone gets their drop and wants to leave, its cool, they could have ran this dungeon 20 times already this week for all I know and then I don't really blame them for not wanted to spend another minute in there. They aren't harassing me, frankly this post is more harassing then someone leaving a party early.
The only time this is an issue is when it's a static party. You get your loot and leave when you're in a static, then its an issue.
People wouldn't leave if everyone did mechanics correctly and didn't waste 30 minutes of people's time wiping to the same boss at the exact same point over and over IE scathatch.
Isn't there a way around the penalty? Like turning off internet so you are d/c.
Sometimes there are valid reasons to leave a dungeon. If people are being abusive and you aren't able to kick them, for example.
people leave cause you get those who do dumb thing and wipe themselves and others and the party refuses to boot them or got those who are just so full of themselves and get tried of listening to them and once more party refuses to boot them cause their the tank or a healer.
Sorry but a 30min timer already bad enough and frankly they up the punishment of that people be quitting the game altogether so wouldn't hold you breath on them doing it and if they did I know I would be quitting once that even listed in the patch notes and not even waiting for the patch it will be in.
While I understand the pain. "Alliance B is down a healer". But the tank from alliance A decides to pull instead of waiting. Then we die and everyone complains. But increasing the punishment wouldn't help or be remotely fair for those of us who have had to leave for real life issues. I've had people leave mid raid because their child started throwing up. The fct that they are going to hVe to wait 30 mins because of that already irks me.
When a feature or function are described by the dev team with them using words like "punish" and "penalty" and "ban", it usually means they couldn't come up with a fair system. So hey let's kick the user end experience in the nuts instead.
Notice how many areas of the game have this? How many times have we also seen the "unable to do X at this time because of Y" bullshit?
People should be able to drop groups without getting penalized.
People should be able run a replacement search WHILE INSIDE THE GODDAMN DUNGEON, and be able to add friends and FC mates at will.
Then it wouldn't be such a dumb, traumatizing experience when people drop, and we'd see less thread topics like this one.
I outright Duty Failed dunce cap because of the time limit... but I still got my gear so I wasn't mad lol. If someone sees it's a lost cause, then they have a right to leave. 1 player kept vote abandoning twice after every wipe. It got rejected, but they were encouraged to leave by the party because the rest of us were fine with continuing. Replacements came fast anyways.Oh you can't imagine how a part of this com will flame you if you leave something like dun scaith if you already have your loot.
