Yours, on the other hand, seems to be based mostly on anecdotes such as "I see a lot of people on WoW" (I personally felt the game was dead in the early mornings) and "HNM groups are full of unemployed people who can be on at any time and therefore the whole game is like that."
Endgame shells were full of people who sent people out 24/7 for spawn windows. Employed or otherwise. My shell always had people camping the spawn, even if it was just to get ToD. I also wouldn't consider WoW dead when the cities are filled with people at all times of the day. Sure, there's more on towards the evening, but it's far from dead at any given time. Again though, it doesn't matter if there is cross-server grouping. JP players that are open to grouping with English speakers can do so. I'm sure there will be an option like in XI where you select your language preference.

Forcing people to play together that don't want to play together does nothing positive for the community, and it was a source of contention between JPs and the rest of the world in XI, especially in 2004-2006. I don't care who I play with as long as they're considerate, however, that feeling largely did not feel mutual in XI.

There are many English speaking people like myself who would prefer English only servers as well. More people to play with and when I send someone a tell I know they understand what I am saying and easier overall to group with people.

SE is still having global servers if you like that kind of server you can play on one of those. So I do not see a problem with what they are doing at all with the V 2.0 servers.
Zumi. You made out as if every single person who posted in that forum wants Language servers.

You don't need to be smart to realise you can translate that site to English to get the general idea.. A LOT of Japanese players are against the idea of breaking up the servers into language/global servers too.

-- They have a habit of calling all english speakers Americans :X

=3= America isn't the only English speaking country nor are they the only English speaking players nor do they share the same culture.

D:< And they call American's ignorant? ... ahem.

There is a good chance of having servers both in the US and Europe if they plan to go regional that is, Dump the European servers at Edios and be done with it :P

I'd never pay to subscribe to a game that had Only same language servers.
    You sir are ridiculous !

JP ONRY was mainly an issue in very early FF11, by the time aht urgan was added, I can't think of one time that I had a problem getting into JP parties, I think socially over time opinions and prejudice have changed.

It seems rude and selfish to me to deny another fellow XIV population a service that they feel would improve their enjoyment and playability of the game. For those who want an language only server, I'm glad that will become an option.
For those whom wish to stay international, that is also still going to be an option.

I don't see it as a racist, it's just widening the options to chose the environment which best suits your play style.
The same way other MMO's offer roleplay only servers or pvp only servers.

Such a shame that the JP's are in full support of JP only servers. I know that the majority of them really have issues playing with anyone that doesn't speak JP, but in the same respect, I have met so many kind and friendly ones, that we have actually ended up having a lot fun with.

I know that we will not see these on English speaking realms, as they would be much happier playing with their own kind, and I know myself for every 1 nice NA/EU player, there is 10 morons.

Sucks for me though, as the majority of my XP parties are during JP prime time, which is what triggered me to learn the basics of the language. Now instead of taking 10 minutes to find people online when I am, I find no one

I will miss all the germans and JP I know by sight and have used auto-translate with, but at the same time, they will be replaced by english-speakers, so it's not like im losing anything without gaining something at the same time.

It's good SE is still keeping the option open for global servers, for those who want to play FFXIV with players they know all over the globe.

Well morons exist worldwide, lets not fool ourselves that Europeans and Americans are any more susceptible.

Im sure you will adapt to playing with your own language player base /comfort

Perhaps this was the case. I quit shortly after ToAU, came back a few times after but mainly stuck with my friends when I came back. I know before ToAU it was a major issue, and I remember several racist remarks from NA, EU, and JP linkshells when fighting over King Behemoth. It always seemed as though JP players felt they were better than everyone else, even at that point. Perhaps it changed after ToAU. As I've stated before, I don't have a problem with mixed servers, though I can see why people would want separate ones. I haven't had a problem in XIV at all, but that's also a difference in partying for hours on end vs a 15 minute behest.

they should force global servers on everyone like they did on xi. there aren't enough players to go around to afford these many distinctions. and those who don't like it could us a cup of tolerance for other cultures.

what do you care if some jps don't want to party with you? its not like they are taking up the spot of a party who would.
