Why is game entitlement a thing and people think they deserve every item in the game?

The people who cleared the content new get their time to be special snowflakes. SE has decided that special snowflake time doesn't last forever. This has no bearing on the time and dedication that those who got it first put in. Play the game the way you want to, but don't try to force your beliefs about how to play on the rest of the gaming community or get on a high horse because you play the "proper" way.

The people who "deserve" a mount/title/achievement are the people who cleared the content, be it by getting carried by mercs, spending 16 hours farming in pf, or steamrolling everything 30 seconds after patch goes live with their premade. A clear is a clear.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a ride through things because I like the rush of winning after a good struggle, but I really don't care how others get their shit. Worrying about how everyone in Idleshire got their afk mount of choice is silly.

How is it nothing wrong with it , if you cant handle the content then you don't deserve the clear, buying a clear should be just as bad as rmt. If you wana run it unsync to do or see the story line later on then fine. But to buy a clear should be illegal in the game, if someone cant clear content at least once the only reward they deserve is just to simply see the story line of that content and thats all. They dont deserve the mounts, are titles from the content none of this should be given away if you cant even get one clear of something.

If anything, it would be incentive for me and my boys to git gud enough to sell content so we can start makin that mad dosh. Git gud and git paid. Nothing wrong with that!

People have different skills. If I've used my skills to make the gil in the first place I should be able to spend it on what I want right? I mean some people can't be bothered to level crafting so if they buy a 4* crafted item are they just being lazy and entitled too?

No, you don't pay to get everything in the game. You are paying to be allowed to log into the servers and play the game.

It is the matter of when you got them. If you got them at the beginning of the patch where there are very few people with it. You will stand out. But when Echo and unsynced are available, no one really cares anymore whether you have it or not. That is the fun of it.

This is exactly it; however, the original argument seems to imply a desire for that beginning-of-patch feeling to last forever.

I actually feel like this may be a lazy desire though; the current method means you must continuously play and stay on top of each patch as soon as it comes out if you want your super fancy special hard-to-get gear to keep you in the spotlight, rather than be able to sit there in full coil gear 3 expansions later hoping to get an "ooh" or an "ahh" from a new player.

if it is about "when" you got them then achievements should be linkable and have a date of acquirement next to them to show that you completed it pre-nerf or pre-unsync or whatever. Also if you complete it pre-nerf or pre-unsync then you should have a special reward that disappears forever after unsync goes live. If you don't get it by that time then tough, you get something else.
