You don't even need to wait 4 years, it is literally only locked behind $720 worth of sub, not time as well.

And you can't ever have more than 180 days sub on your account. So...yes, time as well. As such, the appropriate "nerf" would probably be to allow as much pre-paid sub on your account as you like.
