Using "generic" as an argument is pretty poor

Counter point: Dwarves have an absolutely massive showing spanning hundreds of franchises in a variety of mediums, and in a large majority of them, they're nearly identical, hence the term 'Generic'. Conversely, Viera are an FF specific race, with very little representation in any capacity, barring two, maybe 3 games.

In the case of the former, 'Generic' is a valid complaint against their inclusion, as the spectrum of media They're involved in is quite broad.

Using 'generic' to describe a race that hardly has any showing at all as a complaint, especially in regards to a race whose mere presence defines a massive genre, is being deeply and totally unaware of what the term means, and is a truly dishonest way of using the term.
