The New Chat Restriction in The Feast

Please remove it and restore the chat to the way it was. Makes talking to people and planing any kind of strategy hard to do.

SE please also keep in mind the limitations of ps4 and players using controllers, I am one and its not easy playing on controller in the first place, we need more communication but with limited space

I got a suggestion. Put chat back in. I don't have hotbar space for 12 more macros. I had macros for feast already made that helped more.

This content will die because most don't even know where the macros are located and its completely killing any competitiveness. Do you honestly think new players would like this mode without chat? We cant tell them how to get better, we cant make on the fly strategy changes to improve our win chances. Premades will dominate more then ever now with this absurd "improvement". The meta before was to try feast then quit after getting dominated by premades, now you stand no chance what so ever while they use voice chat in 8v8 and your stuck with pugs who dont know what you mean by spamming "adrenalane rush is ready!" over and over hoping they know you mean hit the healer with it.

Great job SE. You do some things right but this is your biggest offense yet.

So a small number of people who don't even pvp regularly complain about chat and it is removed...

But when a large number of people that are active in the pvp community both here on the forums and other places (discord, pvpaissa, in-game and a myriad number of other places) attempt to get some sort of feedback from SE, this is what they are handed?


Do you guys realize how ineffective those chat macros are?
Do you guys realize how poorly of a job you do explaining how feast works to someone who has never played before?
Do you guys realize how overwhelming pvp is in general to a newcomer?

Is it so hard to follow other competitive games examples of how they deal with "toxic" players (ie, LoL or Overwatch?)

Feast Season 4 is going to be stillborn.

You want to improve communication? Restore chat and stop trying to find band aid solutions for an issue that is hemorrhaging.

To put it lightly, this is quite a disappointing response to have received after so long.

Our thoughts are more than simply wanting a "please recover MP" option added, or other phrases. We do not like this system. It causes far more problems than it ever solved. We want it gone. We want it GONE. Not improved. GONE. Restore the ability to chat normally. Use this as a restriction for offenders if you must, but we do not like this. We did not like this the moment it was mentioned months ago. Restore the ability to chat normally. I will not even consider participating in the Feast ever again if this matter is not handled properly.

Clearly they ARE talking about it and this is what they came up with. Do you really think that they would even impose this feature if so little people had wanted it in the first place? Highly doubt it. They've made their decision. Now we just have to deal. And I'm sure I'll be quoted with people whining about this or that..but that isn't going to change a thing, so I wouldn't waste your time.

New players aren't able to learn from other players by asking questions and experienced players aren't able to effectively communicate in ranked 4v4 without chat. Adding more quick chat macros doesn't help the issue as it adds bloat to hotbars and unnecessary downtime if you manually open the actions menu.

Please restore the chat in the Feast.

This is exactly what casual and new pvpers want. They don't want top tier players to communicate, they don't want them playing, they don't want anyone to tell them they suck or to tell them how to improve. So they get behind this in the hopes that they can faceroll themselves into pvp rewards while complaining about it not being fair that these exclusives exist.
