Yes, I played NIN for some time and that was the case a lot. It's even worse because they have their own specific set but it's not made unique. It's also not uncommon that the MNK set matches the BRD.
That I agree with, though it's still not really in the same style.
Thank you for pointing out which one. I haven't seen the aiming drop yet so I wasn't sure which set was for which job.
While I think it's very cool and making sets with different themes is fun, I'm really talking about the more tradition steampunk MCH aesthetic for it'a AF. This one is full on metal gear solid, which is cool and very unique compared to what we've had before.
I really want more Victorian era clothing with gadgets all over. Messy and elegant at the same time, you know?
I don't agree. None of the time gear suits MCH, especially the Lore set. For Alexander, I think only the Midas set looks MCH leaning. It has tech aspects in all the Alex gear but before MCH exists BRDs wore Coil's Allagan gear. That's just the theme of the place.
Which is really my main issue, is that they go for the theme of the place over the job identity. I think there could be some middle ground there but BRD and MCH are too different thematically for there to be an easy fix.
I mean, I haven't checked all the dungeon gear but the time gear being so hard leaning is disheartening.
This.
It also has the benefit of being dyeable.
Some of the Alexander pieces are pretty well suited to a MCH. The latest dungeon set is as well. Then there's the 'Sky Pirate' crafted set which, again, is well suited to the MCH aesthetic.
Neverreap and Fractal Continuum have a solid gear that is well suited to a MCH as well.

I like that it is dyeable as well..it's great and I am probably gonna be using it for awhile..wanted another coat type chest piece for a long time now.This.
