If you mean the 3.5 thing, I don't think there's any chance of that being resolved in HW.

All signs point to it being Rhalgr, who's not just a deity (not just a primal), but the deity worshipped by Ala Mhigo (before Garlean intrusion). It's probably gonna be a big plot point in Stormblood, so Rhalgr has to stick around beyond HW.
