If it didn't matter, we wouldn't have seen the ridiculous mentor system sucking up Dev time. It's because of the zillion+ "duty finder tales" (aka sociopathic bitchfest) forum thread, that the mentor system joke is in the game. So yeah, it can make a difference, for better or for worse.

Put the damn chat system back in, and leave it alone forever.

I agree, the chat was never a problem to begin with. People could always hide it if the words on the screen were hurting their feelings to much or people were "toxic". However, the pvp community is much smaller than the invested interests of a robust mentor system and wouldn't solicit the same kind of attention.

SE has ignored numerous threads about the issue, dragged their feet with cheaters in multiple feast seasons (despite evidence provided by users here), and shown a general lack of priority with the pvp community. I think that is perfectly okay, considering the relative size of it. But, to act like our complaints here on the forums will incite the same amount of reaction as other communities is to ignore the evidence of the past in my opinion. Which is why I suggest drastic action if reversal is really what people seek.
