I do understand the perspective of trashtalk being a moodkiller, but you just have to get used to it. That's how online games have ALWAYS been and that is how online games will always be. Should it be that way? No, but it is and it will be.
Hiding in your own safe space will only make the inevitable encounter with frustrated people even more horrible because you haven't had exposure to it. Sometimes people give advice while frustrated. Sometimes people just vent their anger, but when you see that stuff enough, you filter it in your mind without paying any attention to it. That said, learn not to give a damn. Do NOT reply "toxic" talk, ignore it.
It can make competitive modes in games intimidating, but you need to remember that it really is just talk. A fist in your face hurts and you have reasons to not get used to that. Words hurt only initially, but you get used to it.
Exposure is key to coping with all challenges of life.
