I am seriously going to beat you until battle tanks pull us apart.

I got a (few) question after reading Yoshida's new post (gonna mark questions in bold). By 7th Umbral Era content you mean what aspects of the game?
I was thinking about it here and it would cover mainly the original storyline of FFXIV, including Archons, Meteor, Garlean Empire and Primals...also seeing the Legatus battle is set to happen right before 2.0 become live, are all these content in the line for removal? Content meant to take place only before 2.0, making their rewards also something unique of those who completed them before 2.0?
Because, if so, seems like that all left would be the Companies after the fall of Garlean Empire, the beastmen without Primals (and, saying so, without the threat to city-states) and the world changed by the archons' power once again, finishing the archon cycle and mainly removing it from storyline too. So all left after this would be the already noticeable evergrowing hatred between companies, being back, possibly, to a "FFXI: WoW verison" where would explain the part of large-scale PvP...
So my guess is that, in the end, it would start 2.0 with open "war" between all 3 nations that would be forced to stop due, once again, a major threat: The Twelve (tagged as twelve mythos at 2.0 outline). This would bring a final rupture, separating, as expected looong ago, all the content from original FFXIV and 2.0 in every aspect other than character models and music.
So, after all these explanation, can we say FFXIV will be a sequel of the original FFXIV as if they really were different games, following the current FFXIV legacy but, at same time, rendering this content unaccessible past 2.0 which would means that the current FFXIV would just become a living background lore to those who played it before 2.0?

I haven't finished reading this thread yet -- but every single one of your posts have been so mind-numbingly irritating that I couldn't read further without replying.
How about this: If everything is gonna be great, then let it speak for itself. You entering every single thread about people being legitimately concerned about topics and trying to downplay everything they say like some sort of lame damage control doesn't help anybody. All it accomplishes is making you look like a child trying to justify their purchase.
Maybe people don't want to pay for an extended open beta because we ALREADY paid $50-80 for a "game" that wasn't even qualified to be called such at launch, and is still barely crawling its way out of that mess. Why do you think they have to fundamentally redesign the entire game from the ground up, including a new engine, UI, world, servers and executable?
Unless they offer some worthy incentive like "If you pay your sub now to experience Eorzea we'll waive your first X amount of months' fees for free once 2.0 hits, as a thank you for supporting development while we regroup and dig our heels in to bring you this unprecedented change!"
See, what I offer is constructive criticism rather than emotionally charged nonsense. You should try it sometime. Posts like "tl;dr bye~bye!" make you look childish, who would want to play with someone so annoying who doesn't question things that should rightfully concern them? Square-Enix owes US for this mess, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

1. Will you continue to make Crafting/Materia-crafting a random number game with no skill?
2. Will we get platforming elements in conjunction with the addition of a jump feature?
3. Will inter-server structure deteriorate the community of each individual server?
4. Will Free Companies have a greater role in the world of Eorzea or just be a higher form of Linkshell?
QuestionsQuestionsQuestionsQuestionsQuestionsQuestionsQuestions
1 - How will 2.0 be distributed? Client downloads in batches over time or one big download or will we be required to buy a new game box?
2 - Will Anima and teleportation be affected at any time before, during, or after 2.0?
First of all let me express that I am totally excited for the new 2.0 release. I am also excited for the new jobs coming out with 1.21. One of the biggest things I was disappointed in during launch was that aside for the story line I had nothing to reach for. The current classes were kind of bland for my taste. Ever since the very first final fantasy I loved the idea of advanced classes or jobs.
As far as the paying goes, I for one am fully supportive. Maybe its my bias toward the final fantasy series that keeps me around, but I don't mind paying for it. From a player standpoint I can understand being disappointed, however from a manufacturers view I can totally understand why the monthly subscription is being implemented. I wouldn't expect such dramatic changes coming without some source of revenue. Personally I think the game as is, is one of the better MMO's I have played. I tried going back to WoW, but it's not the same game I used to enjoy.
