    How i see it is if we use reality as a base; race, gender and nationality is meaningless. Anyone can get any haircut. You might look funny in it but you can. IMO that applies to clothes as well; that's what tailors are for right? At this point i just think it's time on the artist and with all that is on their plates they don't have the time.

    "Special" hair wouldnt be an issue. Roegadyns got harder hair than the rest of the races, and typically braid it (wording? english aint my first language)

    There would be issues with miqo'tes due lacking ears on the side of the head. They would have to modify any hairstyle that has shaven sides to include hair. Like they did with the not-so-recent mullet. Otherwise we would hit unpresidented levels of the uncanny valley.

    If I remember correctly, in the early months of the ARR patch cycle, the team was unlocking hairstyles from one race for others in each new patch. I'm not sure why that stopped, but I think they were doing this at one point.

    +1'd, you're actually correct about that. I'm not sure why they stopped.. I wish they said WHY they did such a thing. Doesn't make sense.

    I agree! More options on hairstyles would be better.

    They already added hairstyles from other races to the then current races. Au Ra and some Miquote hairs (save a few others) are the only ones with a lot of unique hairs

    True, the unique hairstyles that are race-restricted are in fact the ones I am talking about. It honestly makes no sense to keep them race-restricted; it gives everyone a chance to try out new character looks, instead of being limited.

    Even if we just get a few race restricted hairstyles unlocked per patch, that is completely fine too. It just needs to happen.

    Agreed. I think that when the game was still new, there was a good reason to enhance the separation between the playable races - including hairstyles. But player preference has long been for being able to use the same styles across the races. I think the main exception to that rule of course is the placement of ears for Miqo'te - and the impact on styles that are close shaven on the sides/top where the ears are, and also the same thing for the Au Ra and their horns. So, I can sort of accept the few hairstyles that are as yet still unique to Miqo'te and Au Ra, but it should not be beyond artistic ability to make it work. Besides, I don't honestly think a shaven head work work for me personally, but someone else might love the look, as long as any hairstyle that is bare, handles the interface between ear/horn and head, instead of just sticking them there like pin the ears on a Miqo'te was a thing...

    Someone mentioned uncanny valley issues earlier, I'm not sure this fits that exactly, but I know what you mean. some might find the bald Miqo'te or Au Ra a little unsettling. Though if the bald styles for Au Ra included visible cranial ridges that masked the joining of the horns to the hear, it would work. And I am certain that something similar could be done with skin coloration and a little wrinkle or two at the base of the ear for miqo'te (owners of Sphynx cats will know what I mean);
