When you're the best people hate you, happens everywhere.I never said America isn't racist, every country is racist to an extent. I was debating whether to use that word at all but I thought not using it, my point would go over people's heads. Japan is extremely nationalistic and the side effect to that is racism. But I avoided using "American" intentionally and instead used English, because Japanese players don't know the difference between Euros speaking English and Americans speaking English. So their hate isn't aimed at America, it's aimed at anyone that speaks English.
No, I don't blame Japanese gamers on XI/XIV for hating English gamers. Just the other day I was watching a podcast of someone that went over to Japan to teach English and the first thing he noticed was how incredibly racist (nationalistic) they are and how much of a surprise it was to him.
We can argue the world hates America, because it does. We can also argue that everyone is racist in one way or another and nobody is safe. But that wasn't my point at all. People (especially on these forums) have this huge misconception that Japan is the shining example of a social paradise where everyone loves each other, they respect anyone regardless of where they are from, and everyone should follow in Japan's footsteps. This cannot be more wrong.
We were the first to kill Ifrit.
