You don't understand the difference in completing the content as it comes out vs arriving late and having to complete all of it in a lump sum in order to play the class you want / play relevant content with friends.i realy cant understand why people think something in a game is gated?
play and you get there.no game what so ever give you all it have from the first min of it.
you say """forcing""" people to play the game is bad but no one do it.
if you read the forums lots of older player didn't leaved the game because they played it from lvl 1 to 60 and got some form of emotional attachment.
you don't get it if you jump. so people jump over 1-"3" months of game play to see that end game is just the same as what they jumped over - the story and open world parts.SE will lose lots of long time players this way.
I am the Fist of Retribution
Its not PtW exactly, but its a pay for convenience...wich is ridiculous on a paid subscription based rpg. I for one am complete against it, even as a new player myself.
I get it that you want to go where the huge majority of players are, but there are alredy a lot of sistems that enable them to play with you, such as daily rouletes and etc...Also you will be torwn on much harder dungeons, while not understanding what most of your skills do...Is that fun? Start learning your class from the bottom as you climb up, the grind for levels is not that bad specialy when compared to other mmo's. You can be max level easily within 2 weeks, even by not playing that much.

MMOs end up as a different breed, with their ever expanding line of content and the shift of activity, where things are popular and then practically dead. For some the most fulfilling experience is when they can experience content while popular and relevant. SOme will feel pressure to join with their friends at the end even if their friends are very supportive and helpful, because while they are proceeding through the growing period, their friends move onward little by little.

"pay for convenience" is exactly how Black Desert advertised their p2w cash shop items. Not saying Level Boost potions are p2w or not. Just saying that pay for convenience is a term that can be used to soften the image of p2w.Its not PtW exactly, but its a pay for convenience...wich is ridiculous on a paid subscription based rpg. PtW is one thing, PfC is another... Imagine they add a new set on the game with a new max ilevel, but you can only obtain it via cash shop. Or making it nearly impossible to obtain via grinding. Thats PtW.
PfC however, you can get there with grind, its not very hard to do, like on this game...Its not that hard geting a class to max level, specialy if you alredy have a max level class alredy. You can skip a week or two of grinding levels with a potion, but that will not give you any advantage over people who didnt buy the potion on the long run.
Mind you, im NOT defending this sistem, i alredy bought th egame and have to pay monthly to play this to avoid this kind of BS..

I get what you're saying. However, what the developers interpret doesn't have to be the same view as the community. Like i said, Black Desert PfC is actually P2W but it doesn't sound as bad as P2W so they say PfC to soften the image of what they are doing.PtW is one thing, PfC is another... Imagine they add a new set on the game with a new max ilevel, but you can only obtain it via cash shop. Or making it nearly impossible to obtain via grinding. Thats PtW.
