So why did they choose to take the game down on a holiday? (USA)

I am allowed 3 unexcused absences from classes before it effects my grade at all, 1 for 3.5, 1 for 3.55 (unless if hits during spring break week /fingerscrossed) and 1 for when I just don't feel like driving to campus that day lol.

Switch and Zelda fortunately hit on a 3 day break so score there.

I wondered the same thing, so looked up world holiday's calendar information.
MLK day does not seem to hit the radar from a recognition point of view very much outside of the U.S.

Of course there are many players that are likely in high school, college, some federal and most of these have the day off, so it is understandable that they wish the game was up during that time.

Well it's not really suprising since Europe wasn't into the segregation thing in which MLK spoke out against. That was in effect in the US though so it's understandable why his influence is concentrated there rather than anywhere else.

Yeah can understand their frustration but stuff happens and sometimes at the worst times. Should really take a step back and think about how influencial their national holiday is to the rest of the playerbase though. This one just isn't very I'm afraid.

Don't take it personally, every time they've done a big patch like this they always do it on the Monday to Tuesday because that's when the weekly reset is.
