    Event gear is never listed in patch notes of this type so the implication is that it's a long term thing. However, that's not to say that PVP won't be changed in 4.0 in a way that removes previous gear, possibly as it would be pointless to have i235 gear when we're at i350 or something.

    Unlikely, considering they keep the i70 PvP gear and even the completely pointless materia around >.>
