My bad, I thought this topic was about chat commands in Feast, not Frontlines. My bad. I forgot ranked Feast and Wolves den were the only forms of pvp in this game. oh wait...... The targeting is not as bad in Feast but its still inferior to mouse + keyboard as are hotbars because of less room for keybinds. Even if you use different pages for your cross bar its still slower and clunkier flipping them to get to your desired ability than it is for mouse + keyboard users. Not to mention players using third party tools for things like enemy buff and DR callouts. Yeah, console users are totally on a level playing field with their pc counterparts.
Clearly you have no idea what you're on about and haven't even seen the wealth of options for controller so I'll keep you thinking you're superior to console/controller.
You can hook a mouse up to a PS4 right?
The post I was responding to he was speaking of pvp in general learn to read. You can keep on deluding yourself if you want to believe console users are exactly on level with their PC counterparts I don't care either way. If you choose to remain ignorant on their differences it has nothing to do with me. Just like you ignorantly assuming what platform I use doesn't affect me either. I have used controller on my pc and while SE has done an admirable job in providing many options for them it's still inferior to keyboard and mouse. They are different controlling schemes and therefore inherently unequal.
I'm being a bit fecetious, but it sounds to me then, like the individual skill of the player is the X factor then. If I'm using an inferior control scheme, but capable of outplaying someone using a better one, then could it not be said that perhaps I simply have a deeper level of skill or strategy? I mean, I doubt it's so black and white, but if we're dealing in absolutes such as mentioned before, then console players that perform to a more successful degree perhaps play at a higher skill level for overcoming an inherent handicap?
(Rhetoric aside, I'm fully aware the real X factor is simply comfort/proficiency with your control medium of choice, strong knowledge of your job and the job of an opponent, and good battle awareness.)

You can, yes, but you have to re-configure all of your settings. The interface for console is not set up the same way as it is on PC, so practically everything has to be adjusted. Most of it is pretty straight forward, like re-configuring your HuD or re-building all your hotbars from the ground up, but some of the nitty-gritty details can be a pain to deal with. You basically have to go through all your system configurations to make sure the shortcuts and command keys swapped over properly.
The bigger problem is creating a system ping. Ps4 is designed to work with a Ps4 controller, not a keyboard and mouse. You can hook them up, but the console configuration is not designed for a foreign control input. Sometimes it can cause an in-game ping between when you push a button and when the action is actually initiated (like when you're typing faster than the buffer on your system can keep up with). It can cause some serious in-game problems, and it can take a lot of adjustments to iron out. You basically have to strike a balance between your console system configurations and your in-game system configurations. I've known some people who have swapped over with no issues whatsoever, and I've known some who spent hours sorting out their settings just to get it right.
The thing is, though, most console players just don't want to swap, even if they could. I myself am very comfortable with a controller in hand, and I find an advantage in moving my character with analog sticks rather than keys and a mouse. It just feels more natural. That said, I have no misconseptinos over the fact that point and click is still faster when targeting. In some games, it's also faster for pivot maneuvers, although I don't know if that's a thing in FFxiv.

How many days has it been since this thread was started?
And no feedback from SE?

Been wondering since we're on the topic a bit...using ps4 is there any way to keep from targetting pets/ summons in FL? Have tried every filter option available but when in big groups (this is largly why I prefer 24s over 72mans) I always seem to automatically target pets 1st (friggin smns)
I can't say that I know, but I love to DoT/contagion/bane pets (especially fairies). Eos is spreading some high-quality AIDS into the backline, and I feel like people are less responsive to purify a pet and would be more confused until the bane hits the entire party.![]()

You can check them out in the target filters in you settings. The only problem is that it seems super finicky. Even with the filters adjusted, I still somehow manage to target pets all the time. I'm not sure, but I think it has something to do with the targeting parameters being different when you are are in neutral stance to when you have your weapon drawn. I don't know for sure, though, because the game has no detailed descriptions on how the filters actually work. Give it a shot, in any case. It should at least help a little.Been wondering since we're on the topic a bit...using ps4 is there any way to keep from targetting pets/ summons in FL? SE feedback was set in stone the day before your post
http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...9c396f0a229d21
All chat features will be disabled when participating in a PvP match.
Due to the restrictions being placed on the chat feature, a Quick Chat feature has been added, which will allow for communication between players.
Quick Chat will be added to the PvP tab of the Actions & Traits menu.
All messages will display in the party chat when using Quick Chat.
(Followed by a list of 21 new quick chat options)
Addition feedback is still accepted by SE, but the signs point at "Please try it out first"
