Being able to show off achievements, make it so achievement points matter!

I have always loved collecting achievements and i have patiently waited for SE to make it so other people can actually see your achivement points when they inspect you or just anything but after years there is still nothing. Am i seriously the only one that actually want something like this?

I'm going to have to side with Canadane on this one. They've got way more chivo points.

For real though, while I don't care about the points, the update Hibbsan is suggesting is pretty innocuous. Those that don't care about the points won't care (or even notice) the extra number in the examine window, and those that do care will get an extra little bit of flavor in their game.

You mustn't be a good player, you must have over this much to play with us".. which had been present before on Forums with people mocking achievements through Lodestone.

Yep - I agree with Settie -- same thing kind of happens in GW2 with people excluding or looking down upon those with less achievement points, forgetting that often there are people who may have less points because they focus on only one type of gameplay (for example, WvW instead of PvE). It wouldn't hurt here as much, perhaps, since many achievements are kinda of the 'go do something that not many other people do just to get the achievement' variety - but as with all things MMO related, those that can, will find ways to use things like this to demean or exclude others [if they're the mean spirited type].

I think what some of us are thinking is one of the more extreme cases. We forget that there's many things to get achievement points from outside of your usual tank and spank (i.e crafting and misc). If it comes down to "you must not be good" based on achievement points, we can also point to some other stuff in the game as well (iLvl requirements maybe? You can easily manipulate gear to achieve the X iLvl; amount of classes leveled via search info). Maybe those weren't the best examples, but that's all I can think of right now. That being said, I'm not against the idea, think of it like a little quirk for those who enjoy hunting down achievements.

do you really think this would happen tho? By your reasoning, SE should never add anything new into the game at all

SE have added some new hairstyles in the coming patch, without a second's thought of the people that will say "oh, haven't got the new hairstyles ay? you must not do current things, you can't play with us". How reckless of them.
