Right. I see the misunderstanding. I wasn't talking about his eyes. His vision turns red -- you actually see the scene from his perspective. The scene blurs. This happens to Gorge. It happens to Raubauhn. Does this happen to Fray? Certainly not in the first quest, at least.

I don't know about Fray, but doesn't that also happen in Taking the Black if you unlock Black Mage? (It's been a while, so it's possible I'm mis-remembering that. I'll check the Unending Journey next time I get a chance to log in.)

Anyway, I'd assume that any character whose eyes glow red would see red when that happens.

    EDIT:
Ok, I did mis-remember the red part. When Ququruka's eye glows, and it switches to his perspective, it does this weird focus zoom thing I can't quite describe, and then the perimeter of the screen around us turns black. There's no red involved in the effect, though.

I don't know. What I do know is that Raubahn was angry, stronger, his vision was red, and he had control of himself not to hurt his allies.

What do all of these things have in common? Warrior.

    Warrior - Source: Encyclopaedia Eorzea

On the northernmost edge of Abalathia's Spine exists a mountain tribe renowned for producing fearsome mercenaries. Wielding greataxes and known as warriors, these men and women learn to harness their inner-beasts and translate that power to unbridled savagery on the battlefield.

In former times which saw war waged ceaselessly in Eorzea, the warriors featured prominently on the frontlines of battle. With the arrival of peacetime, however, their art has descended into the shadows of obscurity, where it remains to this day.
Rediscovered Jobs - Source: Encyclopaedia Eorzea

The following sections seek to explore these alternative practices and the manner in which they differ from the more established adventuring professions.

    Rediscovered Disciplines

In the present age, those martial and arcane disciplines that have stood the test of time have seen their techniques gradually standardized by the establishment of the various guilds. But while such institutions have eased the passage of knowledge from one generation to the next, the simplified structure of their lessons gradually eschewed the complex, and often dangerous, skills required to master older forms of battlecraft.
Warriors were Great Axe wielders prior to the existence of the Modern Citystates and the Battlecraft Guilds. Marauders are a modern profession (class) based on standardized and simplifed techniques lost over generations from their older forms of their battlecraft. (WAR) Therefore Warriors were always Great Axe wielders.

Raubahn Aldynn - Source: Encyclopaedia Eorzea

Born in a destitue hamlet deep within Gyr Abania, Raubahn Aldynn joined the armed forces of his native Ala Mhigo, and did much to defend his nation's borders from Garlean attack. When the Highlander was twenty-five, however, his nation fell. Raubahn escaped with little more than his life, and spent two years as a vagabond before coming to Ul'dah. There, he was mistaken for an imperial spy, and immediately imprisoned.

For many years thereafter, Raubahn fought as a gladiator upon the bloodsands of the Coliseum. Wielding the ancient bladedancing techniques of Gyr Abania, he won his freedom, the people's love, and a popular title-the "Bull of Ala Mhigo." By the time of his thirtyseventh nameday, he had won one thousand matches. With his winnings, he purchased the Coliseum itself, and b doing so earned himself a place amongst the Syndicate. Now forty-four years of age, some winder if his hardest battles lie ahead of him as the only member loyal to the sultanate.

Tizona - Raubahn's weapon - Source: Encyclopaedia Eorzea

The Tizona is a sword made of two cursed blades, and was taken from the hands of a former rival in the Coliseum. With a name that roughly translates to "sword of flame," its accursed magicks are so powerful that the weapon will set ablaze all who cannot control it.
Raubahn has a background of using ancient bladedancing techniques of Gyr Abania. We know he acquired Tizona during his time in the Coliseum. Bladedancing with 2 weapons has no ties to any of the Rediscovered Disciplines or Newly Discovered Disciplines. Therefore it is not tied to any current job. The only current job having origins specifically from Gyr Abania, is Monk.

That is simply too vague to point to WAR, considering the event itself and his history.

This is a person that came from nothing and climbed up the ladder of Ul'dah. A man who built a strong relationship with and was the only syndicate member loyal to the Sultana. The Sultana, whom which, he had just "lost". A friend who betrayed him and admitted to killing her.

A tragic event in which you cannot rule out his emotional state and reaction.

You can ask for Rocket Launchers on your WAR, its a suggestion and your opinion. However, when you state this cutscene proves Raubahn is a WAR and you should have dual swords. Its pure speculation and unconfirmed.

The lore, coming from SE is confirmed. All we know is he uses ancient bladedancing techniques of Gyr Abania and that Tizona has accursed magicks.

While I think artefact gear should be restricted to their intended job, some restrictions are truly inane, for example, as a MNK, I cannot glamour Ninja pieces that are pretty much palette swaps of the striking gear, its this type of restriction that should be lifted.

Totally nailed it there bra~ I can so see the servers crashing in one day. Healers would start healing the mobs instead of tanks, and then the rest of pt would be like "Maaaaan Grrrr~ and stuff." Yep..talking extinction level 'disruption' there. That statement may very well have saved the game.

"Unique Identity" isn't a good argument for keeping this barrier, either. Aside from iconic Artifact gear (which I think everyone can reasonably agree should be exempt from this request), nothing in this game identifies a job. I made a thread like this a couple years ago proving and outlining the complete contractions and hypocrisy of the current system. YoshiP said, early after the launch of 2.0, that their intention was to help players identify the jobs and felt that it might be too confusing to players if gear appearance wasn't restricted. Yet, we get images like this:

How, pray tell, does this make more sense and reduce confusion?

And yet, we get mage skirts for "Disciples of Magic" skirts at level 15 for all mages, DPS and Healers alike, only to have the exact same skirt model restricted to Healers, only, in the low level PvP gear. Anyone can wear a pig costume and be considered non-confusing, but a smn can't wear the same skirt as a sch without confusing everyone...

On top of that, we have the ability to identify jobs for what they are via our UI options, completely independent of any glamours people may or may not be wearing.

I want glamour restrictions removed from jobs of the same category (like all casters can use caster glamours)

When it comes to cross-category I can understand why they didn't do that initially, but ultimately yeah I would love that. I don't really see why not seeing as we've got mog-station outfits that can make any class look the same so that renders the argument about "lancers should look like lancers, and black mages like black mages" moot because we're well beyond that point. Plus it's an MMORPG, and the more options you have for vanity the better the game is for it.
