You're just talking about the generic gear, right? Because even in 1.0 the job specific sets could not be equipped by any job but the job it was locked to. So 'any piece of gear could be equipped by all classes in 1.0' isn't really correct.

I do remember a fair bit of armor was able to be equipped to most classes. I had this chainmail looking piece on my THM back in the day, but none of the stats matched up. The similar piece I see now can't be equipped. So I guess my argument is "most gear" as best as I remember. I dunno... 1.0 was a mess.

Basically I want to be able to transmog two handed swords, based on the idea that the job -- Warrior -- doesn't teach you anything about axes. It's entirely about managing your inner beast. Infact, the class armor is more important than your weapon re: the lore for the job.

They said warriors cannot use any weapons but axes (which is ridiculous) and I abided by that until I finished patch 2.5.5 and saw Rauhbaun for what he is.

The portion labeled "A still picture of Dark Knight Fray Myste, Job quest giver" simply shows Fray's eye glow red, not unlike Curious gorge's in "How to quit you". In this i am showing that while both have instances in which their eye's turn red only one is a Warrior. The point you are attempting to make is that when Raubahn sees red while enraged, it somehow proves he is a sword wielding warrior, he is not.

Many characters in the story see red, have glowing eye's become enraged, even in later instances some characters giving in to their rage are major plot points. However rage itself is not the sole providence of Warriors.

The question you have posed is why as a Warrior you can not use a Sword, the answer is while if FFXIV it is not the weapon of your chosen profession. No amount of rage, red eyes, bloodbath, inner beast, ect... will change that. Want a Sword? level a job that can equip one a Warrior can not.
