Where to buy land for the house? I absolutely do not understand how to get it.

Go to the housing districts, if you find a Plot without owner you have to go to this plot and interact with the sign in the entrance of the plot. Now you can purchase the empty plot.
Purchasable plots are also marked with an auction hammer on your map.

usually they are all sold out always and really quick
if you really want have a house you need pay a huge ammount on gil to someone who want sell his house, than he release the house and you can buy it off from global market means you need pay double and 10x more than its worth but there no other way atm to get a house.

LOLWHAT?! I bought this game mainly because housing and now I know that I can not take this a feature of the game? That is, I have to pay real money for those who started playing before me? This stupidity! What idiot came up with this?
Good game to spoil such a stupid ... I did not think that this will be the reason that I will not play.

You could buy an apartment room while you wait for plots to free up. Room costs 500k Gil while a small house price range is 2-4 mil depending on the position in the ward.
Medium and Large houses are a lot more expensive, going 20 mil for M and around 30+ mil for L if I am not mistaken.
These above are prices set by the game.

Here on Odin it's almost impossible to get a free plot, but I heard there are servers out there, so little populated you can just go around and actually choose which plot you want to buy.

No you don't have to pay real money to buy a house. Some people will buy housing lots and will then sell the plot to some one for how ever much (I've seen some people trying to sell plots for around 6 mil Gil before) if you buy the plot from that person they go and give up the plot then you can buy the plot for what the game lists it for.

If you hold out and keep an eye on the residential areas you will find plots pop up, it's just a waiting game. For a small house I would suggest having about 3-4 mil Gil on hand so when a plot comes available you can run and grab it before someone else does

Hahahaha!!! I've already passed the storyline and quests made a billion, you suggest to start on another empty server? It is easier to delete the game or buy it for real money.

Btw, buying it for real money sounds like some sort of RMT and therefor is illegal in this game and might get you banned!
