Well, I've never played XI, so I don't know things like how they move and such, but from a Google image search, they seem to at least have options for some somewhat more catlike facial markings on the forehead and cheeks, which I'd like, but it's not much and the ones not using those options don't seem any more catlike than the Miqo'te here.

I would like to see Miqo'te with:
    • facial / body markings in a tabby pattern (possibly Siamese seal point or calico options as well)
    • carnivore teeth
    • claws (nothing dramatic that would change the shape of our hands, but something like what Claws of the Beast or the Ehcatl Wristgloves offer, so more like pointed fingernails)
    • possibly a hint of fur if it could be done subtly enough to stay out of beast tribe territory
    • more catlike use of the ears and tail in emotes. (Lashing your tail back and forth, for instance, belongs with /furious, not /happy. And why don't our ears perk forward or swivel around during /lookout and /alert respectively?)

(I guess full Ronso style cat people would be too beast tribe for this game. Too bad about that. Ronso are cool.)

Thing about the Mithra was the facial markings were tied to the hairstyles, meaning you couldn't mix and match. Everyone pretty much played the white spiky haired one as well. One thing I like about being elezen, so many people play tails on XIV I get to feel like a unique special snowflake. However, I do agree that all the races need more customization options.

Ugh. That sounds as bad as tying horn styles to faces.

Yeah XI didn't have a lot of options. Height was decided by either picking small, medium, or large. Each race had 8 face options, and each face had two different hair colors. For example, my elvaan could have either black or silver hair. It was VERY common to run into your twin in XI. In that regard XIV is way ahead in the customization game, buuut having more options is never a bad thing. Personally, I'd like to see the wildwood's earring clamps be made available to duskwights.

Well, XI was on PS2, so the lack of options really wasn't that surprising. My comment about Mithras was under the assumption you'd have the same customization capacity with them as you do with the current races, or more. More bestial looking, more cat-like nose-mouth designs, sharper teeth (Moon Keepers have sharp canines, very hard to see though), light/thin fur, more exaggerated use of the ears/tails, etc.

The biggest gripe I have about Miqo'te customization is the fangs being exclusive to the Moon Keepers. I love the way those look, but I can't stand the eyes on them. I suppose that was the trade off between the two clans, the Seekers got the feral eyes, the Keepers got the teeth. I would've preferred it if either clan could have either style of eyes or fangs, and have the difference be elsewhere, like ear shape or much greater variation in skin tones.
