I don't have problems with the other races.No. It's just not relevant because the OP wasn't talking about PCs. OP was talking about bosses/monsters that for some reason are sexy.
If you want to use male Miqo'tes as an excuse you'll really be out of luck because now we get to include all the "disgusting" half-naked female Miqo'te/Au Ra/Midlander/Highlander/Elezen/Roegadyn/Lalafell(have to be fair) purring at each other that people seem to ignore : D
It's just that mancats are pure ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
I have to concur--but I'm not surprised. They always seem to make the women figures more human like versus the men in those regards.
Garuda and Shiva are both MUCH more humanoid in comparison to the male Primals for instance (Ramuh is an exception but he's not what I'd call eye candy).
There is certainly enough eye candy (male and female) to go around though. But, I do see the point the TC is stating.
Well Leviathan is a female traditionally... I certainly assume her to be in this. Shiva has alllwwwaaayyss been humanoid and Ifrit has always looked like a Djinn/Demon. Nothing much can be done to change them without upsetting alot of FF fans.I have to concur--but I'm not surprised. They always seem to make the women figures more human like versus the men in those regards.

Not that I'm suggesting that there is a call to change them but there is a history with Shiva (even the lore kinda lends to the idea she be humanoid). Now Sophia is new and I harken her style back to Greek Goddess just a stylistic choice considering her theme.
How about bosses that we have no specific ideas about gender? Are those just assumed to be male?

I'm partial to the dudes, but I appreciate the ladies as well. My main concern would be that the Scantily-Clad Female Antagonist thing is pretty well overplayed, even considering the conventions of the genre.
Rather than simply balancing the scales by introducing more pretty men, I'd like to see a wider variety when it comes to "sexy" depictions of men and women instead having more or less the same Barbie and Ken dolls being the core of each design.
Actually, I was talking about all bosses in general, so his point was at least definitely relevant in response to my comment that there's minimal diversity in female boss designs.
I honestly had forgotten about the bug bosses, but it's not like they're a giant step forward in design diversity of female boss fights either. Queen Hawk, Myrmidon Princess, Coeurlregina, Sabotender Imperatriz, Progenitrix, Miser's Mistress--each one of these boss fights prominently features the female boss summoning a crowd of adds to defend her. Now I'm not saying that that's not most fights in the damn game, but yeah, not exactly a hallmark of creativity for the female boss fights.
Er... Leviathan is definitely male in FFXIV. He's referred to as the "Lord of the Whorl" basically everywhere in game, as opposed to, for example, Garuda's "Lady of the Vortex"...

Ah yeah, good point ^^
Shame, prefer Leviathan as a female... Always been one of my faves.
Are you assuming the gender of Leviathan ? that's rly rude.
Sophia is hardly new. Rarely used, sure, but hardly new. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/G...nal_Fantasy_VI)
