    It's a well known fact most people consider CoP the best expansion to FFXI for 2 reasons:

    1. Storyline was as classic FF as you can get.
    2. Challenge.

    Yes, before people cried about difficulty CoP offered a lot of challenge (Ouryu, Bahamut, One to be Feared, Proto-Ultima, Jailer of Love and Temperance.)

    The only thing Abyssea offered?

    1. Gear handouts
    2. Ability to level from 30 - 95 in hours depending on efficiency.

    The storyline was decent (it was about gear handouts mainly), but it offered really nothing. Shinryu was a good challenge, but that was a bout it.

    because SE stated that this game will gonna compete other mmo,s why not implement the good idea,s?
    Exactly, why not implement the good ideas from XI? And even, I don't know, expand on them like they should have?

    There's actually an NPC, in Ul'dah or Limsa that talks about a mythological "city in the sky" that they'd like to travel to. It's not outside of the realm of possibility.

    Serious note: MMOs need long-term goal oriented content to survive, plain and simple; while sky/sea itself might be out-dated the idea of it certainly is not, therefore they offer a completely logical point to be made. When will we see something like sky/sea (maybe not up in the sky or under the water but content similar in nature to it)?

    When I exit my dungeon I expect loot bags of 5 materia IV slot kraken clubs and relic weapons just for participating. This way even if we wipe we still get something out of it. No time wasted! All future content of every MMO should be like this.

    sky/sea is hardly a good example for an endgame content, unlike you iam not a hardcore player sitting my butt on the chair 24/7 just to get pop items. now days you do sky/sea only to remember how SE failed comparing to other western mmo
