    No, FFXI is a taboo word for the most part sadly. You say they should use a basic foundation system found in the last 2 MMOs they made (FMO/FFXI) people get upset and say you want a FFXI-2 and they want to play a new game etc etc, however Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIV share's one very important aspect...the namesake.

    Tu`lia and Lumoria were very nice change of pace, especially once they got rid of the bottlenecks in certain areas, so the type of areas like that and systems would be nice. Yes, people will say you're living in the past if you admit you like FFXI before Abyssea, but honestly, in order to fight a god you had to literally do "trials", i.e popping related NMs on a lore level.
