Like the title says, is there anything available on your server and if so, what is available and what server are you on? On Hyperion here nothing available but apartments.

Balmung, and nope, no houses or apartments. Not even in Ul'dah. Given this, it's not a surprise that our server has a bit of a market for it. There's often a party finder up asking if anyone has one for sale, and I've even occasionally seen one for sale there.

In (totally not) unrelated news... I would be in the market for a small house in Lavender Beds or possibly The Mist on Balmung for any fellow Balmungite who has one for offer. PM me in game with your reasonable offer if you have one for sale.

Jenova has none right now, but it took a while for all of ours to be bought up after the new wards. And I do see them become available from demolition from time to time.

I'm on Sargatanas and there's no houses available at the time of writing, but they're always being demolished and I've seen a few come (and go) over the last few weeks and I'm not even actively checking, only seeing this when I want to go visit friends in their wards.

But if you want a server with tons of housing left... Mateus. I'd heard the rumours and just created an alt to see if it's true... it is!

Yes I saw Mateus mentioned when the last wards were released, too. They still had housing from the other wards available.

Bear in mind that you can only transfer a certain amount of gil from server to server. Each character you transfer can only transfer 1,000,000 gil that is held on their person, and each retainer transferred can have at most 100,000 gil stored. Speaking from experience, the latter is a hard requirement, meaning you will have to withdraw money from each retainer until they are each at or below 100,000 gil before the transfer is successfully purchased. I believe your character having more than 1,000,000 gil on them won't prevent the transfer, but the excess will be lost to the aether. I don't have personal experience with that, however, so I am just basing that on the sometimes obtuse wordage of official World Transfer information page.

It's still possible to transfer enough money to buy a small or possibly even a medium house on a new server if you split up your money across several characters that are being transferred, since you can transfer up to 8 characters from a single server to another single server with a single world transfer purchase. Just keep this limitation on gil in mind if you choose to go this route as you could inadvertently mess up your plans if you don't plan it out.

I was planning to buy a bunch of allagan platinum pieces off the MB before I transferred to get around the Gil limit.

I'm from Sarg and it only took a couple of weeks of actively checking to get a personal house and in that time I saw a few largest and a medium plot for sell.

Because Mateus is in the Aether datacentre it already benefits from Balmung/Gilgamesh being in the same duty finder and with a cross server party finder coming I wonder if it's popularity will drastically increase given all the housing that is (currently) available...

Or maybe it won't make any difference... we shall see!
