I'd you talk to everyone between quests? There is a lot of details that you only pick up if you talk to everyone. It wasn't in one of the main spoken parts.

As I said, I am pretty sure I remember him saying his other eye is ok, he just felt this made him look more dashing. Of course he too could be lying or I could be remembering falsely. Its hard to check details like that when you cant rerun the quest.

    It's easily overlooked, but
in that same quest Thancred also explains that he did not actually loose his eye at all when he materialized in the Dravanian Forelands after his trip through the Lifestream, merely injure it, hence he took to wearing a scarf over his injury while it healed. It's long since healed and he has retained his eyesight in both eyes, but he still wears the scarf over his eye because.. this is Thancred we're talking about, being Mr Ladies Man and finding it makes him look roguish and dangerous and thus appealing to the ladies...

The important thing is though that Thancred's eyesight is fine, it was his aether that was altered permanently, meaning he will no longer be able to cast magic at all or even teleport, he is effectively like a Garlean who are also incapable of manipulating their bodies' aether and thus cannot cast magic or teleport.

Well, that's funny. I played from when Y'Shtola is rescued until Azys Lla last night. What bothers me is that no one besides Tataru and Shtola's sister were emotional about her being resuced. I think Alphy may have had some reaction, but eh. Then we get to take her to Ishgard and Cid is just "good that you're back and brought a gifts, but let's leave the relief for a later time when we're not chasing the bad guys". I get that they're in a rush, but couldn't he at least have shown more emotion or something? Or have they never been too close? If that's the case, then is only Tataru close to every Scion, considering she was around them all the bloody time?

I'm going to just also ask, this is kind of a Japanese thing isn't it? I'm under the impression that they just don't interact the same way we would what you're missing is what a "Westerner" would do.

I agree. Im sure, that everyone, first of all, must ask a lot of questions about what happened in the palace, about how Yashtola casted her spell and most of all- what was there, in the Lifestream! But no. They just sad "ok, you are with us again", like she was not in the other dimension (Lifestream), but went to the shop to buy some food and returned

I dont understand such behavior of the heroes in the main story line, it is really strange

There is also this thing called tact and it is widely used among polite people. If somebody has a deformity or an injury of some sort, it is tactless to ask them about it unless you have a close relationship with that person. If they want to tell anyone about it, they will without being asked. If they do not want to talk about it, asking them about it is not going to net a substantial response anyway.

You cannot take anything for granted, change eventually swallows everything you may try to immortalize.

This is what I was eluding to. You just wouldn't walk up to some person you've worked on a project with and ask "yo why your eyeball screwy now". This especially in Japanese society of which this is a JP game. Now I'm going to run away before I'm ridiculed for mentioning Japanese society.

Do you really think, that it is not polite to ask what was there, in the Lifestream, from where noone of the living came back? You really think so? It is not a question about "what color are your trousers", you know. It is a real question of care and real interest of a person, if this person is really darling to you

    but

If the person in not interesting to you, so, you just dont care what happened with him (her).

That is why I make a conclusion, that SCions are not the dear friends, but just some mates, which just in need of each other to achieve some common goals. No more. Like mercenaries

There's a point in the story where Y'shtola very plainly states what the situation with her eyes is about. IIRC, they basically say "we didnt want to pry" when she brings it ip. Sounds like you either haven't reached that part yet, or missed it. I think it might be in the Alexander line of quests when they're talking about the aether around he primal? I can't quite recall. I'm pretty sure it's in a cut scene and not random dialog when talking to people who don't advance the quest. (I highly recommend doing this, since they often have extra information to add.)
