I'd offer my critique but honestly, even with the "stat fix" I havent seen any significant benefits from gear beyond defense and HP.

You're set up looks fine to me, but if you're trying to develop your MRD, the only thing I have seen to do that is to get all the abilities and traits, know how and when to use them, and team up with others who play to win.

    Technique > Gear

I have most of the cross class abilities. Accomplice, Taunt, Provoke, Disorient, Raging Strike, Invigorate, Sentinel, Ferocity, Cure, Cure II, Sacrifice, Sacrifice II.

All battle classes are 30+ including magic classes. So I think I have almost all the abilities. I know I'm missing Deflection and Diversion.

    Anything else I'm missing?

I got to really use Accomplice for the first time last night as I ended up tanking raptors because our GLD in the party was R45 and wearing rank 20 dated gear that wasn't even specced for GLD. I loved it, it was amazing. Combined with Warmonger and Main was <3.

You need 36 and all 3 quests completed to get the class traits, which cost 12,000 Guild Marks each.

Did you mean Decoy and Diversion? Deflection is a shield only ability. Also, your gear choices look fine and contrary to what the other poster says stats are meaningful in 1.19.

I must say i personally prefer light armor and evasion gear. Unless you're planning on straight tanking, heavily evasive gear is improving MRDs performance drastically due the current miss/parry overflow it's generating.

Right now i'd suggest you to focus in these aspects:

    Enmity bonus
    Attack Power
    STR
    Evasion
    Critical Hit
    Critical Damage

Magic Evasion and DEX are also good, but not a must have...same goes for VIT, HP and acc.

An action that is must have for MRD now is Keen Flurry (LNC). Due the damage difference between Storm's Path and the other WSs, you might want to always have SP ready for a double usage.

Cadence (GLA) now is also very nice to combo with Collusion (LNC). It can generate some obscene amount of enmity if you're using SP, intimidation and enmity gear...so if you gift this enmity to tank he might thank you.

Seeing the way things are going, i'd say now MRD is moving from off-tank position to enmity manager (like FFXI THF) when talking about single target fights.

It's been my experience that I end up tanking anyway. With Accomplice, Provoke, Disorient, and Warmonger and the amount of damage I can do, might as well tank? Otherwise I'd have to severely limit myself to my damage output to work with a GLA.

I will look into Keen Flurry and Collusion, thanks for the advice.

Collusion is actually LNC, but, yeah, that seems like a valid setup. . .
