BLU tank with a mace or hammer. Some kind of blunt pulverising weapon is the best I can think of; we don't have many options left for weapon types.

I'll just leave this here...

SE do not always follow what they say so blumage is possible to be introduced. Perhaps not 4.0 but 5.0
I would be fine with it being either Dps or tank, though tank would be... interesting i suppose
BLU will be a tank wielding gauntlets.
They'll be able to absorb aether from enemies and gain abilities during combat.
With so many abilities they'll probably cut the amount down by classifying each enemie by its place in the animal kingdom. So serpent type, humanoid, etc...
if red magic can be it's own unique thing so can blue.

BLU tank with a double scythe or a scythe with a chain.
I say this half jokingly, but Blue Mage will be DPS that wields a whip.
In all seriousness though, I would like to see the Whip weapon utilized in this game. I think it would be a very unique and awesome weapon that can have quite a few different weapons styles like a chain spike ball weapon. I think Dancer would be the most fitting class to use a whip, however.
As far as BLU being a tank, I don't think it's necessary and like many others said would take away from the job class a little bit because they would force it into using mostly enimity generating and protective abilities which is contrary to the job class which uses an array of abilities that overlap all three of the healer, dps, and tank roles.
I think what they can simply do, instead of needing to be hit by a monster in order to get the ability is just make a Blue Magic Hunting Log in which gives you a list of hundreds of spells and give you a requirement as to how to unlock it.
For example, if you want to get Spider Web, you need to go kill 20 spiders in some area. Some spells can also be part of a quest inititated within the hunting log and then others from the job questline itself. There're many ways they can go about how blue mage can unlock spells in this game.
You just showed everyone how little you know about TanksI'd go with DPS too, and saber.
tanks aren't very strong, so learning gimped attacks would be kind of anti-climactic.
also you can't get hit by healing/tanking skills...so you couldn't learn them...problematic
so you'd have to learn blue magic through job quests or observation which doesn't require you to tank.
also i can't think of any interesting healing/tank skills available in-game, atm, aside from maybe some raid mechanics, but i doubt you'll be able to learn those, because the game caters to casual players, and they would flip if they had to do raid content to learn skills.

What about the all might Fell Cleave thoI'd go with DPS too, and saber.

Tank would actually be the best role for this as they have access to DPS abilities (Berserk, Fight or Flight, Fell Cleave, etc.), tank abilities, and healing abilities (Bloodbath, Inner Beast, Clemency, Soul Eater, etc). Personally I think BLU could work as any of the 3 roles but would prefer it as a tank if it has a weapon that isn't a sword, since we could use some variety in weapon choice for tanks. Would still be fine if they made it a DPS or a healer, though. As far as BLU being a tank, I don't think it's necessary and like many others said would take away from the job class a little bit because they would force it into using mostly enimity generating and protective abilities which is contrary to the job class which uses an array of abilities that overlap all three of the healer, dps, and tank roles.

still you can only match dps with the worst damage dealers, because tanks have low damage multipliers. so yes tanks aren't very strong. you have 1 skill that's 500potency, that doesn't mean tanks are strong, the rest of your skills are weak.
ya and that's the problem, you can't get hit by tank/healer skills, cause they don't target you, so...you can only learn damage skills then...fail.
care to explain how?
goring blade has 600+ in total, so meh![]()
