Yes, we all agree that you're best off not intentionally trying to delay your main quest progress until your level exceeds requirements.

As for Stormblood, we actually know nothing of its quests at this point. Recently implemented Heavensward main quests actually show a very nice trend towards separating required primary progress that unlocks dungeons etc. from optional background story.

The proportion of MSQ quests vs. side-quests will be larger, meaning fewer non-MSQ quests as a percentage of the total available for secondary leveling, we DO know because Yoshi said so.
