Omega Storyline continue in 4.0 Raid? [discussion]

So the constant story build up for Omega through 2.X to 3.X era Main Scenario is just for the upcoming 4.0 8 member raid and will not be required to progress in the Main Storyline.

However, it is still a very important part of 4.0 Main Storyline despite not being required.

So it's basically like The Coil of Bahamut. Main story connected - ending 1.0, with the conclusion being side quests to enter the raid and getting the full story through those means. I actually thought Omega Weapon was just going to end up like Ultima's Bane. This is actually a pleasant surprise to find out it's the new raid.
