Ok bye now.
Ok bye now.

See ya in a month or two.
No. No it's not. Person paying to skip story is only saving time AND doesn't affect ANYONE else. If Gil is received, then most likely they are only obtaining what they would have gotten from all the quests up until that point, same with any gear seeing as it will be replaced entering the 4.0 content.

I am against the Jump Potion as well, though I understand some of the practical reasons why such things are implemented into MMORPGs when the road from character creation to current content has grown prohibitively long.
I sense that the anger you're expressing here stems from a misplaced feeling that players who buy these boosts are cheating their way to attaining progress and status that you had to work to achieve. But the truth is, they're only cheating themselves. They'll get a boat load of skills dumped on them and not know what to do. They'll be clueless about the story, about where anything is, how various features work and where to find them. Veterans might have some frustrating Duty Finder experiences with high-level players who lack basic knowledge, but to be honest, veterans are going to feel minimal impact from this. It is not going to ruin the game for you, and if you enjoy FFXIV now you will still continue to enjoy it just as much after Jump Potions are implemented.
It's the new players I worry about. They're in for a very awkward, unfulfilling shell of an introduction to this great game.

If you haven't liked the direction FF14 has gone since pretty much 2.0's launch I don't think your likely to see a dramatic shift now. There are areas I certainly would like to see improved but its unrealistic to expect a major overhaul of the core design.
As for Jump Potions, there are definitely concerns on how they are implemented but something like them is needed going forward for the long term health of the game and I am yet to see or think of a better solution that won't either negatively effect me as a current player or seem frankly unrealistic.

Bye? You will come back it will just take time to sink in at what an odd decision you made for leaving.

I don't understand why people dislike level boost or jump potions as they are called here. One it is not hurting them they just see it as for the most part that I have read is bad players will now be in my party. If you have a bad tire you get them out or you remove them or you form another one or whatever. I think what a lot seem to be forgetting is that a huge majority probably won't use them most will probably just go through the storyline through the leveling process, those that Talent are able to get right into the new content but still have to level the last 10 levels as everyone else. Remember this won't even come out as has been said until after Stormblood but as someone else said before in this thread SE doesn't always follow what they say they're going to do so who knows.

People are overreacting and exaggerating on the "Jump Potion" theme.
And also ignorant to all explanations and other opinions.
/sigh
on topic: you better question what they will do with Stormblood, not this fake spectacle with "Jump Potions".

Hahaha bye

Don't let the door hit you on the way out! /wave
"Criticism. In some multiplayer free-to-play games, players who are willing to pay for special items or downloadable content may be able to gain a significant advantage over those playing for free. Critics of such games call them "pay-to-win" (p2w) games." The only advantage is skipping story (which, if you had time or skipped most of it, would take a week or 2). Would be nice if people stopped tossing this term around and actually understood it.

Expecting people to know what the terms they use mean? What is this communist russia? Pay to win obviously means "Anything I don't like". My FC leader has a black chocobo and I can't afford all the fruit to shove down mines gullet so obv she's pay to win. Don't like it? Take it up with my attorney because I am sueing everyone I hate in this game right before I quit because I'm a big dumb baby.Don't let the door hit you on the way out! /wave

EDIT: For the record I love the idea of jump potions. The closest I came to just throwing this game out with the bathwater was during AAR. A tepid at best story who's hallmarks were delivering meat pies to people and rubbing chocobos down with fine scent because obviously we can't just hire the slightly slow kid who runs the cash register at McChocobo's to do that, it needs the warrior of damn light to do it right. It was stupid, and it was bad storytelling, and I'm still irked that I have to take orders from a 14 year old with the emotional maturity of well... a 14 year old. Sure lets put HIM in charge of blue army, nothing can go wro... oh wait they all hated him too. What I'm saying here is please kill Alphinaud off, I'd rather get my quests from a plank with notes stapled to it. Thanks in advance.
