Yeah, losing 1 sale from the west will hurt them sooo much. Honestly, if you're lv 50/60 what do you care? You wont need it unless you make an alt. Also, unless you've played solo all this time I highly doubt "bad" players will be an issue.
they lost 3 more from me lol
Me: "Aww man I'm clicking all the wrong buttons tonight!"
Friend: "You're i190, you can't click a wrong button unless it is no buttons"
Me: "lol"
When the inexperience of the players for rush all to reach the maximum level with these potions affects my experiences is when we have serious problems.

The continuous flow of the MSQ is one of the things I like most about this game so I am very much opposed to any change to that. Also, having dealt with quite a lot of sprouts I can tell you as a fact that it usually takes several months for them to get through it. A lot burn out early HW.Not going to read through 39 pages of replies, so forgive me if this was already stated.
This game is not yet four years old. You are only talking about THE SECOND EXPANSION. Has anyone bothered to consider that while such a service will eventually become necessary with all the MSQ gating (IE - tying all the expansions together into one long string rather than having one here and there that is the start of a brand new story) TWO EXPANSIONS IS TOO EARLY FOR SUCH A THING.
MSQ offers one of the most efficient means of leveling up from 1-50 in ARR then from 50-60 in HW. Someone playing a few hours a day can play through the MSQ of both ARR and HW in a few weeks. Not years, not months, mere weeks.
The way they described how the questing and flagging system worked it doesn't sound like it would be simple. In fact it would probably require substantially modifying how that system works. Right now they cant allow you to replay old questlines without completely resetting all your progress back to that point.Making all the content ilvl and level gated. In essence making the MSQ optional.
All this would require would be a simple change in content unlock requirements. They wouldn't even have to touch the MSQ for that.
There is NO reason to implement a level skip potion other than making SE money.
Even if they did, this would effect things such as phasing and the story mechanics with effects on such aspects.
Just making it a free service has its own drawbacks. For example the price is likely to be a major turnoff for RMT to exploiting it.
That said, my preference would be for them to only offer it once per character and give one set of potions included in the cost of the expansion. The additional price is likely to undermine the value of its purpose as paying an extra $50 is likely to be a major turn off for players. It makes far better sense to allow all new legitimate players with the latest expansion use of the potion as part of their initial purchase and provide support systems for newly autoleveled players (a tutorial).
Whatever your view of WoW as a game, I think they handled their level boost system very well. If FF14 is going to pursue this option, it wouldn't be a bad lead to follow.

Just make it cost an exorbitant amount of money to do($100 or more). Problem solved.
I don't mind the potions existing.
I enjoy leveling and questing so I won't use them but I don't care if others want to pay extra to skip stuff they don't enjoy.
And honestly? I'd prefer that the people that don't care about story were given the option to skip than for the old quests to be reworked/removed. Even with some of the low points of the ARR story (the worst for me personally being when you were doing chores to help with the Scion's move to Mor Dhona in 2.1) I like being able to revisit that meandering story on alt characters. Heavensward's more condensed patches feel rushed to me at times.
I'm not gonna read all these pages of angry players so would you mind quoting where someone has a magic fix for making players good? Cause 60 levels of story doesn't seem to put and end of the "horror" threads. I'd be down for buying a potion for myself just because I did the MSQ once, and I'd love it for all my alts. Where 10 players drop the game (see ya in Stormblood), 20 more are gonna be glad to throw SE their gil.
Its np, shell out some extra bucks to play with your alts and even defend SE's 2.x dilemma quest chain which still haunts them to this day and got people stuck.
Who wants solutions when we can just throw money at it, right? If you are so eager to donate some money to SE buy the whole mog station or sub again.
