Well someone made a gathering response to my initial post, I mean I guess if we count gathering, then ya sure, besides maybe what ? Sophia?
I have a sneaking suspicion anyone grabbing an easy button from staples isn't after gathering or crafting though... but that's just an opinion not a fact.No my dear , FFXIV real endgame is GLAMOURS!
Yeah they basically get i120 stuff. And so what? That gear is already far outdated and they still need to do the 50->60 levelling. i120 is good till 53/54 at best, i130 is good to 55/56. So they're given some gear so they aren't completely useless while levelling and that gear will be replaced entirely by the time they hit 60. Once they get to 60 they'll still have to grind out seals and tomestones or buy crafted gear to be ready for endgame just like everyone else now. With a lvl 60 potion then exact same thing will happen. Someone that uses the lvl 60 potion will be given some gear that will presumably be replaced about half way to 70 and then the grind begins once you hit 70 to get whatever the most current gear is. This is no where close to P2W.
Edit to get past char limit
I think the flying makes the whole experience much better. It would take awhile to unlock endgame content quests in the new areas if you can't fly! I think I'm too spoiled with the flying zones x)Well someone made a gathering response to my initial post, I mean I guess if we count gathering, then ya sure, besides maybe what ? Sophia?

And why do you assume that someone that used a jump potion isn't willing to listen and learn? What exactly would make them different from someone else that did grind out the levels (btw the jump potion doesn't take you to max level so you still have a fair bit of grinding to do) but didn't bother to learn anything during that grind?I do not kick people who are willing to listen and learn. I would help people learn gladly unless we are in the endgame content which is not the place to start to read your skills. But I would not have patince for a cheater who was to lazy to play a game and now waisting my time. Do you really wish to get into a some high level duty with a tank who has no idea what tank is supposed to do?
If I go into a high level duty with someone that has no idea what their doing, then whether or not they used a jump potion will not change that they have no idea what they're doing. They difference is that I'm not assuming jump potion user = instant baddie that doesn't know how to play.

Story skipping I understand but a level jump... hahaha~
A lot of people are really terrible to begin with, NA DF will be an absolute nightmare probably. 80% of the game is BiS, 20% "skill" and yet people still can be utter failures and not know their class.
Gonna quote myself to make it apparent to people that these potions are NOT MAX LEVEL potions, but ways to get people up to par...
Yes this will change with Stormblood, but the lvl potion cap would go to 60, and the MSQ skip would include HW, but honestly, they, and also you will have to do stormblood, and get to the new cap. I fail to see why this is a bad thing...I think people aren't looking at the full story. None of these potions will get anyone to the endgame faster. People will still have to level and will still have to do some quests. As it is currently in the Korean/chinese markets, you can only use a potion to jump to lvl 50, and can only skip the ARR MSQ series. You still have to level the last 10 levels, and do the last 120+ quests of the HW MSQ. This is not something that is or will be terrible, it is designed to help new people who want to join the game and not do 400 quests worth of old content. As long as people aren't hitting max level, I'm on board with the idea of leveling potions and story skipping.

That's great we need more people like this. And why do you assume that someone that used a jump potion isn't willing to listen and learn? So I hope you don't mind teaching a new person who's never played an MMO their level 60+ rotation during a dungeon run on top of the mechanics of the bosses?
Scratch that, you'll be teaching a lot of people.
