But yeah, do any of you commenting here get how bad it is want to play a game like WoW and have to do every single quest in the Burning Crusade, Cataclysm, Wrath of the Lich King etc, just to hit Legion? That's the equivalent here. That's why it existed in WoW.

A lot of you have these really weird worries that honestly make no sense and quite simply, aren't how the vast majority of people play MMOs. Those who would buy the game then pay to run to 60 to just do end game will be horribly bored, and they'll be wasting their own cash anyway. Nobody will want to play with these people, and they'll be out on their ear $100 out of pocket and miserable.

Sorry, but it's entitlement, through and through. Are y'all the same people who complain when they nerf relics and raid tiers once they're not current content? It's the same method of thinking. Nobody wants to do the tedium of fetch quests, and I don't blame them.

ARR is still somewhat relevant even now. I really doubt HW content will die as fast as you claim it will. ARR may kick the bucket, but HW will still be around.

Note I said content of substance, like extreme primals or raids , even dungeons what need if you are level 60 already will you have to go back and do level 59 and below dungeons other than on alt jobs that will be the only thing that saves the dungeons but then if you have the skip mindset then they will prob just level up in potd.

Alexander just like coil is now, will be pointless with a skip potion even fewer people will consider doing it ,new players will have no need to do this are even wana do it if they can just skip right to the most relevant content.

Extreme primals will just be more face roll unsync content, so basically players can skip potion, run potd, and get a head start on their cross class job starting at level 15 along with a leveling bonus, and unsync everything below level 60 yea that sounds like the formula thats gona happen. But in a game where things become instantly dead then I totally get the concept even if Im conflicted on the issue

...and yet the story is a huge and very important draw for many players - especially the core target audience. Are the developers going to let the quality of the story suffer moving forward if and when the 'norm' becomes people demanding a focus on the fabled 'end game' and new content has to be pumped out at a quicker, more lacklustre rate?

The quality of the story hasn't suffered, in spite of the fact that many players skip all of the cutscenes. Hell, the majority of the playerbase effectively skipped the 1.0 storyline and they're still dropping references, developing old characters, and tying up loose plot threads. Why would the ability to skip cutscenes en masse suddenly spur the developers to abandon that commitment? It's not like every new player's going to skip the story, just the ones who would have skipped it anyway.

2.0 to 2.1's garbage and they should have condensed those quests, no FF game should have this much pointless filler

if they have to jump, make it to level 30 so they can't just pay their way to content people took hours upon hours to reach, otherwise this game will become fairly worse for it due to the amount of people who would just skip the story the team worked so hard to make, you wouldn't go to a restaurant and skip everything to dessert, people who would skip everything to the end should just stick to games that don't have a story/have no real progression

I never really cared for the story, I would of bought this if it was offered when I started.
Whenever I duty finder something it's pretty hit or miss on people who do their job well anyways.

I'm not thrilled they went this route. I would've preferred they had adjusted content first. Now they have no incentive to adjust anything, they can just point at the cash shop. In WoW they usually reduced the exp curve for lower levels when they added a new expansion and raised the level cap. It's a shame SE skipped that step.
