I'd really like to see them keep the 1h mage weapon and shield option viable. It feels quite sad to have that option slowly taken away.

Yeah, it would be nice if they'd alternate them. Say have Sohm Al drop a 2h and Aery drop a 1h+shield, or if the current raid drops a 1h+shield, the tome weapon is a 2h and vice-versa.
I've supported this idea for a long while.
I just prefer the look of the wands on Black Mage to the staves.
I don't particularly care for the shields though...
What I want is, like with the two slot body items, to be able to glamor the single handed wands on top of the two handed staves.
I am aware that this won't allow for shield glamors, which is unfortunate for those who like that look.
But, as the dev team seems determined to not make any more, I see the glamor option as my only way to keep the look.
I've recently gotten Black Mage up to 50 on my Balmung character, and and now stuck with the upgraded ifrit wand until such time as this is added or I have to stop playing the job due to not being able to survive the encounters, or possibly survive the other party member's wrath...
I love that this has been implemented! There were no reasonable options for shields and it needed to be unified for raiding gear anyway. However, can we please get the BLM Staff that is available for purchase on the Mog Station (Mog's Staff) available at the exchange NPC? It's rediculous to have an item is spent actual money on in your cash shop, whose only purpose is glamour, but it can't be done because we only have Two-handed Weapons.

NECROPOSTING because I just ran into this problem today. Trying to glamour a Scepter (One-handed arm) over a Staff (Two-handed arm) to complete my glamour and it was an absolute fail, due to the fact that they are considered different weapons even though it is for the SAME class. Please SE change this. #BlackMage4Lyfe
This needs to be fixed. Make it work like any other multi-slot equipment (like how we can glamour a shirt appearance onto a hooded robe, but just can't have a hat with it).
Eliminate the differentiation between different equipment types depending on whether it's one-handed or two-handed. Make the type for either just be "Thaumaturge's Arm" or "Conjurer's Arm" as appropriate, just as we have for any other classes. Then give it the "cannot equip gear to off-hand" attribute if it's two handed. That way it would match how other multi-slot equipment is handled and would work far better for glamour purposes.

Bumping this again as it would be nice addition to have
This! Leveling WHM and I really like how unique the wand + shield look is. Really hate to see it being abandonedThis needs to be fixed. Make it work like any other multi-slot equipment (like how we can glamour a shirt appearance onto a hooded robe, but just can't have a hat with it).

Again bumping as still would love to see this option in the game, and not heard anything about it for a while now... still have fingers crossed that it maybe ninja fixed in somewhere lol
