Everyone is new at some point, so they always get a chance. The ones who speak up quadruply so. If somebody says they are new in a dungeon, whether to that dungeon or the game in general, I'll gladly make conversation with them while attempting to set a manageable pace through the dungeon. It leads to a better experience for everyone that way.

On the flip side, I have limited patience for newbies who try and "sneak" into harder content like EX primals or certain Coils (looking at you T9). If they don't listen to any advice the party gives and continually cause issues, then they will be getting removed because I didn't sign up for a wipefest when I joined an orchestrion farm.

I love helping new players learn the ropes; I recently qualified to be mentor a day or two ago, and yesterday I dropped what I was doing to help a new sprout learn about guildhests, dungeons, potd, even used my recently leveled crafting and gathering classes to fashion them a HQ bow and save them a few gil. I can proudly say I've never ragequit content or received the associated 30 minute penalty.

Helping other players in general, when I can, is easily one of the primary reasons I enjoy FFXIV.

I have no problem with new players, but old players who play like they are new make the 30 minute penalty seem like a gift from hydaelyn.

My tolerance is extremely, masochistically high. I will put up with situations when everyone else I know is saying "hey...you should leave and eat the penalty."

The reason is because if even one person learns and benefits from it, or I was able to make a difference by sticking it out and performing my job properly, then it was worth it.

Had Aurum Vale for mentor roulette. We wiped two times before we got to the first boss. We wiped at the boss. The other dps left. We got a SMN right away, went back in, and cleared (barely, but we cleared). I think the healer and tank were relatively new to performing their jobs in there. So I stuck with them and did my very best to burn everything down to the ground. E4E on tank on big pulls, kept up Fire II on everything but single targets. Between me and the SMN dps was never an issue.

That Aurum Vale probably took 45, 50 minutes, but we cleared it and I got two comms.

You have to take into consideration those things you mention, for instance I've cleared all the level 50 primals level unsync , I have cleared gaurda and ifrit sync the others are impossible to even get a que for , same with any binding coil ,even tho its a low level raid now with alexander its still a raid so , with that being said did you clear t9 your very first try or attempted are any of these other things. Alot of the issues is when someone lands in the harder stuff the ques are so bad for it that its a miracle if you even get in I've tried to que for thormarch extreme several time I got in once. And everytime I see something in party finder its unsync nobody wants to do it sync. So I think you could maybe look at it as more of an attempt to practice and get better than a whip fest because that same person could easily get carried and do it unsync and never learn how to actually do the fights at all. If they are doing it sync I would look at it as actually wanting to learn the content even tho its old.

I have no issues with it because lets be real: The game does a poor job at handling explaining skills to people especially those with disabilities that make it difficult to focus unless visually and not on text. Reading the description and trying to do it in game =/= great performance, which is why Im honestly confused as to why in Job Classes they dont just give you the damn skil you learn AFTER the quest DURING it. It shouldnt be that difficult making a fight revolve around learning said skill during the Job Quest to incorporate it into a situation for the new player to focus on to how to use it properly. The Smith Things were smart but why not put it into the damn MSQ? it makes no sense to put rotations and things that are vital to the damn game optional that need to be learned during the fight not after?

The Worst Offender is Tanks which makes most new tanks subpar if not terrible during start to finish.

You can generally tell when an inexperienced player is trying based on how they're playing. For them, I can quite patience, especially if they're asking questions or announced their new. That patience starts to wane when people jump into supposed clear parties or 24-man raids, have absolutely no idea what they're doing, don't ask about any mechanics they may be unsure of and/or don't respond when I (or someone else) tries to explain what's wrong. Friend and I had to deal with a healer in Sophia EX who kept standing right in front of the tank and barely did more than Cure I. That gets very irksome because you shouldn't be doing extreme content if you're that inexperienced with the game.

I've been trying to get a clear on Ramuh EX for nearly a month now. The queue always pops, and people NEVER learn the fight, no matter how much you explain it. They keep doing the same thing over and over, dying again and again, because they refuse to learn.

Players aren't looking to learn in synced queues. They want to get carried.

Î dislike new players I always want to leave if I get a new person but since a penalty is most of the time not a option (well for me as no lifer it is) I try it. I really dont want to waste my time helping when people can just check a guide or smth. Im not here to do someones job except mine which I do. Why is that ? Because whenever you help ppl they dont want to hear it and are just angry at u + insult. So tolerance for me very low.

But wouldn't it be easier to get carried, just doing it unsync , cause like I said I personally want to learn so Im gona que for it again and again until I get a chance I watch mrs tech guides but the only thing is sometimes they get a bit confusing, esp with the debuffs that tend to happen in the extreme content, and I know my limits. I didn't do ifrit extreme as a healer because I knew Id have trouble dealing with a debuff and dodging the whole room aoe, so I went in as paladin and cleared it.

I thought my server was mid core I guess not cause I dont get a que for anything but gaurda mostly on mine. But I want to learn the fights personally and Id like to think so would other players , if not then why wouldn't they just do it unsync once and forget about it which alot of players do. So I dont really think anyone quing in for sync is lookin to be carried and like I said look at a guide look at the comment sections this content wasn't considered easy when it came out , it just is now because there is a new expansion.
